There has been no divorce settlement reached between Madonna and her estranged husband Guy Ritchie.
British reports claimed that the two had struck a deal over their finances and how to split their property. One publication even went as far as to say that they had agreed to a custody arrangement for the couple’s children.
In a brief e-mail message sent to The Associated Press, Madge’s publicist Liz Rosenberg said: “I will not be commenting on the various reports regarding the divorce or of the settlement which has not been finalized.”
Meanwhile, something that has been finalized is David Banda’s father’s opinion on where his biological son would best be off — in Africa!!
The real father of Madonna’s adopted son David feels bitterly disappointed that she is getting a divorce - and yesterday he declared: “I am still a poor farmer with nothing to offer, but maybe he would be better off back with us.”
“‘This is a new and terrible thing to happen to him. I am too upset to think clearly. He is only three years old and he has been through so much. I have the joy of a new family and I even have a new son. But now when I think of David in danger of living outside a family life I find it unbearable, I find it hard to believe God intended this. This woman Madonna told me herself that David was beautiful and made her happy and she promised to take good care of him. Now I see him in a big bewildering crowd in the street with people pushing and shoving, and many cameras around, and without a mother and father to hold his hand. I’m feeling bad for him.”
While we love to kick someone while they’re down, there’s no doubt that young David is far better off with a divorced Madonna then returning to a mud hut is Malawai anyday. His father has to much to say, if he feels so strongly about his son he should never had signed the child over in the first place or put a week old baby in a home.

I think the child should also stay with Madonna!! There is no way the child would be better off with his father. Madonna will provide an amazing life for him!!

We don’t know how it is like with Maddy and we don’t know how it is like in Malawi! We are not child rearing experts here. Only some ‘know it all’ idiots can answer that. Surely David has bonded with his mother and siblings, enjoys the ealth they can offer him and feels loved and cared for - even Guy said that Madonna is a great mother. Divorce happens, why should David be send home into poverty and hunger?
His birth father is probably well paid for whatever he says, good for him, but he cannot be serious.
I agree with Sandra. How does anyone know what goes on inside anyone’s home unless they live there? I remember seeing Madonna on an interview saying how conflicted she is to be away from her children so much as she works on all her projects and how she sometimes feels she has too little time with them. Even if someone has wealth, it does not guarantee they are happy. Madonna’s divorce should be the least of David’s father’s concerns. The fact that she doesn’t have enough self control not to bash Guy at her concert speaks volumes about her character. I feel bad for David’s father, because it must be hard to see your child in any situation you feel is less than ideal.
He should be with his parents in Africa, she shoulg never have been able to adopt him in the first place, copying off Angelina if she wanted to help his father she could have given him some of all that money she has, what the hell is she going to teach him about his heritage and it is a strong on, i know he will resent that mess and she got the nerve to be trying to teach him that kabbl mess of hers! Madonna is/was never really loved by the press. It never stopped her. I doubt she cares. She doesn’t show her emotions in public. She will keep her chin up like nothing ever happend nomatter how dirty and mean it gets. She’s a tough cookie.

madonna went through 18 months of monitoring by the british child services when she got david banda. she has been very outspoken of what a hard process it was to be monitored so intensively and also said she couldn’t imagine someone adopting for no reason because the process is so complicated.
so yes, we do know that she provides a good home for him. you can probably look up the public records if you care enough. having a former father that cries wolf everytime madonna is in the media is a far mor serious problem for david than his divorcing parents.
