Lauren Conrad was certainly no shrinking violet à la Miuccia Prada following the debut of her Spring 2009 runway show during L.A. Fashion Week in Culver City, CA last night.
Showing a whole lot of leg, the reality telvision star-turned-designer strutted down the catwalk just like the towering models standing next to her as a crowd of media types and frenemies watched on.
As for how the show went? Well, let’s just say that LC has a whole new drama to boo-hoo about on an upcoming episode of The Hills.
LA Weekly has the scoop:
“Had it not been for the stampede at the check-in desk, the crush of people with valid tickets to the show being turned away at the last minute. Had it not been for her publicity people, Red Light PR, stupidly overbooking the tiny venue. Had it not been for security letting in everyone who claimed to have once had a cocktail with Lauren at Le Deux. Had it not been for the fire marshall declaring absolutely, positively no more humans are fitting into the space (giving whole new meaning to the name Smashbox), and turning away press, LC’s close personal friends, and sponsors–you know, the people who give her money–alike. You might have read a review of her clothes right here.”
Needless to say, Conrad’s show proved that there is indeed an ugly side to the fashion world. And, this time, it happens to have nothing to do with the yawntastic threads she designed!

Nothing special about her collection
Nope - same old shit, just another name
hahahahaha!!!! Fashion designer my ass!!!
^ what are you fools doing with your lives that is so great? At least she’s trying to do something with her life and not live off her parents millions.
I’d buy her stuff. I especially like the short white dress with polka dotes and black fringe at the top.
So the place was overbooked well at least people showed up. Lc looks gorgeous by the way.
All the boohaa is rediculous. Everyone wants to be a star or a fashion desinger these days and this badly handled event is just a symptom of the poison.
The designer having a wardrobe misfunction in one of her own creations can not be a good sign.
I dig LC, but can’t g/f see how tearfully boring her crap is?! I fell asleep. Honestly I could make this stuff from tube socks and t-shirts. Surely, she can come up with something better than this? It’s really pedestrian. Sorry Lauren but get a clue.
I like her stuff. Why do people have to put her down? I agree with #4. At least she has a job of her own and isn’t just living off her trust fund.
Clothes are a matter of taste. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
Cute clothes
