JAMIE-LYNN DOES THE MOM THING TOO

Jamie-Lynn Spears and her 4-month-old baby daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge spent the weekend just like all other famous, unmarried, teen moms — at her local supermarket!
The 17-year-old sister of Britney shopped for vittles and other discounted items at a local Mississippi branch of the wholesale food retailer.
Despite endless rumours, Jamie is still engaged to babydaddy Casey Aldridge, and the couple may wed as soon as next year. Says Miss Spears, “We are engaged, and we are really happy with where we are right now. There isn’t a rush for anything.”
The National Enquirer recently claimed that Jamie was expecting for the second time this year, but her reps have denied the story.

She seems like a more responsible parent than her sister.

I really admire this girl. She has handled herself very well through a not so ideal situation for a girl her age. Most girls would have just got an abortion and gone out partying and having fun, it was a big decision on her part and she seems to be coping tremendously well. I think constantly labelling her an unwed, teenage mother is a bit stupid to be honest. Leave her alone. She’s living a quiet life in a little town and not looking for attention.

Stephi, she now lives a quiet life, but is that what she wanted, or more the result of her being singled out as a teenage mother? She certainly has less options now for her future life, school, her career and her relationships. I’m certainly not saying that she should have had an abortion, but pregnancy and motherhood are difficult for teenagers, especially when they are not rich and famous, let us not forget that.

Miss Janet why are her options suddenly limited? This is 2008 we are living in, not 1808.

Having babies only because you can is just not good enough.
She is gonna be a mother, she was not a mother before the baby that simple.
Her life changed and she has cash coming so she does not have to worry, but the majority of women having babies just because they got pregnant (no other considerations) and most likely with no career or even college education will be as good of a mother as non educated women can be… So the question is how good of a mother? Anybody can make babies….that does not mean a good upbringing.
who needs that lack of consciousness? Inconsiderate for the baby, her self and society at large. Plainly primitive

Yeah, she’s just like every other teen mom except for the Benz and Range Rover she owns. ha ha Leave this girl alone. She took responsibilty for the situation she was in and is living her life.

Why not talk about Sarah Palin’s daughter.. who no one seems to talk about in
a negative way.. She is going to have a baby at 17 years old.. and she is unwed
and she stands there next to her mother.. proud !!
So stop talking about Jamie Lynn and start talking about the next Vice President
elect’s daughter.. who should be addressed..

People seem to be overlooking the fact that she’s able to be financially independent as a 17 year old. Hell, I was lucky to get a paycheck of more than $100 when I was her age. Plus, she seems to be taking the mother thing seriously. So good for her…the situation could have ended up much worse.

Okay a few things.
1) Why is it the WORST THING EVER for someone to be an “unwed” mother. Why is a woman automatically labeled when she isn’t married. OMG you mean people exist outside of institutions that were founded on sexism?!?! But that’s terrible! How will she instill sexist values in her child?
2) Why do we need to be awful to Bristol either? Sarah is an absolutely psychotic and offensive example of a woman, but Bristol is a 17 year old who made a (big) mistake that, unfortunately, lots of girls make because they are constantly told that abstinence is the only, right way and know nothing of contraception. Now the poor girl is (most likely) being forced into a marraige that’ll be unhappy…. which is obviously better for the child, to grow up with a father in an angry household or to grow up in a house full of love, regardless of if its a mom, a dad, a grandmother or another qualified caregiver?
Here’s the thing- this may not be what you’d want for yourself or for your kids or for anyone, but these girls have gone through enough- yes they screwed up and made mistakes, no I did not make the same decisions they did when I was in their shoes, but instead of attacking these girls for stupid, sexist reasons maybe we should look at why so many young women today are ending up in these situations where they don’t feel they have a choice. Let’s work together as (mostly) women to come up with a solution instead of being horrible to what we can call children with children. It’s exhausting and unproductive (though what can I say, really, I’m the one reading the celeb blog)…

My mum had my sister at 17 she then went on to put herself through school and become a nurse she purchased her own home and worked hard.
Jamie lynn looks to be a very caring mother and who cares if she isn’t married britney was married and look how that turned out, I think shes doing a great job and if she is pregnant again I believe that she will handle it like a woman twice her age.
Oh yeah she left hollywood to get away from the paps and they followed her back home she wanted to raise a normal baby away from hollyweird.
