In an unbelievable chat with Barbara Walters set to air Friday on ABC’s 20/20, Peter Cook talks about why he cheated on Christie Brinkley. He claims he cheated because supermodel Christie didn’t give him the emotional support he needed. Cook and Brinkley divorced after a messy battle displayed in court and in the public’s eye, during which Brinkley accused Cook of his affair with 18-year-old office worker Diana Bianchi.
He reveals his affair began when he failed to get the emotional “connection” he craved from his wife. He explains, “There came a time when I pulled up the driveway to the home that I found, that I built, that I lived in - and I felt like I was a guest in someone else’s life. I was seeking a connection I could not find in my own marriage. I think I just suddenly realized when I was getting attention from someone else that this is something that was missing in my life.”
Cook added that he hopes Brinkley - if she watches his interview - will learn to “heal herself” in the aftermath of their bitter breakup. He also begged for her forgiveness.
But it doesn’t end there! (Does it ever?)
Christie is firing back at her ex-husband’s interview via a statement from attorney Robert Stephan Cohen.
The always-smiling supermodel says:
“It is a measure of Peter Cook’s character that he has breached the confidentiality agreement that is in the divorce settlement and has sought to present this distorted one sided view of his marriage. Mr. Cook had his days in court, testified on his own behalf and ultimately agreed with the view of the children’s court appointed attorney and psychiatrist that the children should live principally with their mother and that she should be the sole custodial parent.”
Stay tuned…..something tells us the battle of words has only just begun!!

In my opinion both these people are unfit for marriage and it was a mistake from the very beginning!
She has been married many times before and always seems to put the full blame on her ex’s!! She seems very cold to me!
He has cheater and scumb bag written all over face! Christie is still beautiful and she will end up with a good partner!! Team Christie!!!
