The ladies of The View ganged up on poor little Elisabeth Hasselbeck today.
The topic at hand? Sarah Palin, of course!
Barbara Walters even jumped on the bandwagon, saying to Elisabeth at one point, “Every single day you never ever say, maybe there’s another point, so this is your chance. …”
“Yes, I do!” shrieked Elisabeth.
And Babs continued: “Tell us now why you think that Sarah Palin would make a very good President (since she might one day be “a heartbeat” away).”
Elisabeth’s response? “Tell me why Barack Obama is qualified to be President?”

Elizabeth’s answer would have been “Because she’s a republican and and a bimbo like me” but that wouldn’t be such a good answer so she just answer the question with another question. Can’t stand her!
Barack would be more diplomatic as far as foreign affairs go. I think he would treat other countries’ customs with more respect and be more respected by international leaders. With some of Sarah Palin’s idiotic answers in regards to foreign policies, no one would take her seriously.

Basically, I don’t consider myself a Rebublican or a Democrat (mixed on issues) — and sometimes I think Elisabeth can be to much of a whiny, over-talking, straight-liner, but I do think they have been ganging up on her unfairly lately. Even the most thick-skinned would be outmatched against Whoopi, that idiot Joy Behar, dippy Sheri and condescending Babs. I do give her credit for holding her ground — even if it’s not ground I agree with 100%.
When you have no answer, you answer with a question. Oldest trick in the book. Elisabitch is worthless. I kinda of feel bad for her because all she does is regurgitate all the right-wing smear instead of thinking for herself. And you’re right #4, you can’t battle Whoopi, especially when you know you’re completely dead wrong and Palin is an utter utter idiot. Microcosm of America? Surprise surprise, Elisabeth does not have one solid argument on her favor, and still wants to believe is a good choice.Time and time again the irrational logic of republicans comes to light:
infinite greed, individualism to the point of paranoia, very short term views on their political choices, not responsible or aware about the impact of their policies for others or something else than economical gain: Make lots of money fast, no matter from where or how it happens, how many people are left behind, or even if is sustainable for themselves.

But again these are the same type of individuals that believe in intelligent design as fact.
The far right in this country has taken the best away: Rationality, education, ethics, empirical knowledge, public interest.
Palin and the economical disaster is the worse manifestation of the type of politics like to impose on others: It only matters they say the last word even if it destroys the same system that fosters their evil ways.

I used to defend Elisabeth because I truly think that she is a true believer. Unfortunately, I have come to believe that she doesn’t necessarily believe in an ideology, she believes in the Republican party. You would be hard pressed to find her being critical of any Republican, no matter what. That does not make her intelligent it makes her a sheep. And please stop with the notion that she is treated unfairly or ganged up on. If you make a point you should be able to defend your point with facts, all she does is turn around and say something negative about Obama or Biden or any other Democrat.
Her brain is empty save for republican talking points. If anybody saw the interview with Palin and Couric, when she couldn’t answer the question of what publications she reads for information, Palin responded, idiotically might I add, that Alaska is a microcosm of America. Lo and behold, the very next day what does Elisabeth say? Alaska is a microcosm of America. Not one original thought in that hallow head of hers. Send her to Fox News where she belongs so that nobody with a brain will ever have to see her again (cause only brainless twits watch Fox News)

Honestly I think Whoopi was right when she said nobody is qualified for the job until they’ve actually done it. It’s a HUGE job and it’s a big decision for people to be voting in someone to look after our country. I personally thinkk Sarah Palin has just made a fool of herself and it’s a scary thought that she could be the representative for America. If she went overseas she would just get laughed at. It would be worse than the George Bush jokes. We cannot afford to humiliate ourselves again with our President. I think Barack Obama is a wise choice, not only because of his plans and views on certain issues, but because he knows how to speak to an audience and how to act like a President. I feel a bit sorry for Elisabeth sometimes too because her opinion is just as valid as the other ladies.

I think it’s not just that I personally think she has moronic views, I think the bottom line for her is that she ALWAYS answers every question in this shrill, angry, fast, defensive tone. That is how someone who doesn’t really know what they are talking about, responds to criticism. Watch Barbara’s face when nicely and patiently asked by Barbara to say why Palin is qualified to be VP and Elizabeth immediately goes into a shrill, sarcastic, unfunny joke about how she is prepping for her pop quiz. You know Barbara cannot stand her because she cannot contribute something intelligent at any time to the conversation. I think, fortunately, that her time is limited on this show.
The level of ignorance on display by commenters here is astounding. Clearly, the majority of you spend far too much time studying celebrities and precious little time learning about history and politics.
I just love me some Whoopi, she is the wisest and most sensible one on that show’s episode.
This idea that EH is getting ganged up on is ludicrous just because she has a failure to communicate. The only one on the show who’s total political views hardly ever find even a micron of common ground with her is Joy, and even Joy will acquiesce when evidence is presented that can’t be argued with. Just last week she admitted she had a problem with something Bidden said and it’s not the first time she’s said “no, I don’t agree with this that or the other even if I do support the person.”
While on the otherhand, Elisabeth has given every indication she’d rather stick her tongue in a running fan while being dragged by a horse hopped up on crack than ever admit the validity of a criticizm aimed at her politics, or admit viability of a position even though it isn’t her normal politics. This idea that it’s her against the rest of the table is seriously false simply because she’s incapable of engaging in discourse that’s even remotely open to other opinions is jacked.

I’m really getting fed up with this conservative Republican bent that states that unless you’re one of them you’re automatically evil, anti American, Dem, liberal! Even conservative columnist Kathleen Parker’s column yesterday said it was getting ridiculous how she got death threats and seriously other vile mail from these people who have this idea like Elisabeth H that “to criticize Sarah Palin or McCain” is somehow disloyal and grounds for removal from thAcquiescee real American list.
EH is someone I rooted for when Rosie was on, and I was (am still glad Rosie is gone) glad to get a more balanced show, but who knew E-bits would be the extreme one getting my goat now! If she leaves, I do hop get someone who does their research, who doesn’t cry so she can get out of it w/o giving in, and who can not be so partisan that she’s incapable of admitting she may be wrong and the otherside might be right, or if she is right, prove her point instead of trying to turn it around on the other person.
