David Letterman remembered actor and fellow racing-enthusiast Paul Newman in a segment last night, saying: “Here is a guy who took care of people… This guy ought to be a saint.”
After sharing a funny story about getting a car from Paul only to have it basically explode when he got it, Letterman aired a video tribute of Newman’s appearances on the show.
Having the ode to Paul set to Rufus Wainwright’s version of Hallelujah only made it that much more touching.

Just watched The Sting with a friend in commemoration of Paul Newman’s passing, he deserves every word of praise for his humanitarian efforts a thousand times over.
I saw that last night and it was very touching! Dave rocks and RIP Paul…you were an angle!!
