The New Yorker pokes a little fun at Sarah Palin for her claims that Alaska’s proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience.
When you consider the “satirical” take they took on Barack and Michelle Obama, this comes off as a little softball.

I think this is funny!! Some of the previous covers I have felt were a little disrespectful but this one isn’t really poking fun at Sarah Palin herself, but just a stupid comment. I think a cover about her daughter would have been completely uncalled for just like the Obama one was. This is good.

Has anyone besides me noticed that Obama accuses everyone of “lying”, but when he is caught in a lie he has “mispoken” or his quite was “taken out of context” Are we really supposed to believe that he is the only one who never lies?

I like the cover too. The pregnant daughter is already a joke on legs. I don’t have a moral judgement about it necessarily, but having read about the Palin kid’s wild lifestyles which included drugs, drinking and the like, I have to question her parenting abilities. They sound like spoiled, bored kids and I really wonder why if mom is the governor of the state they have not been raised more civic minded. Wouldn’t you raise your child to be more responsible with their time and energy if your job was to run the state? I’m sure there are a lot of organizations in great need of volunteers in Alaska. Looks like her kids were raised to not do a damn thing but kill time.
