Ever since the messy story began, we’ve all simply assumed that Britney Spears was just crazy and hooked on drugs and alcohol.
But now Britney is fighting back and pointing the finger of blame at her mom Lynne, her ex-hubby Kevin Federline and her former manager Larry Rudolph.
According to TMZ, the 25-year-old stuggling singer says she never had a drug or alcohol problem and that her stay at the Promises Rehab Facility was a plan that her “people” cooked up.
We’re told eventually the professionals believed Spears suffered from post-partum depression, made worse because she stopped taking Prozac. She was also emotionally crumbling because of a messy divorce and intense media scrutiny.After leaving Promises, as paparazzi waited for the golden shot of Britney drinking again, she began getting angry that she was at a rehab facility in the first place. Britney and her assistant, Allie Sims, called Promises multiple times, asking for a copy of the report showing that she tested dirty for drugs and/or alcohol when she checked in.
We’re told it took several days to get an answer. Only two reports were sent to Britney’s rep, both showing no drug or alcohol use whatsoever. Most shocking, the first report was dated March 7, 15 days after Britney checked in.
Sources say one of Britney’s reps then called the facility and asked for any evidence of a dirty test, but she was told there was nothing in the file.
What the?!?
Could Britney actually be making sense? As pointed out by TMZ, how can a rehab facility treat a patient when they don’t even know what they are treating her for?
Well, as we all know, Miss Spears later fired Larry Rudolph. Soon after she stopped speaking with her mother and allegedly filed court papers to keep her away from Jayden and baby Sean-P. What’s more? The nearly over legal battle she had with former hubby K-Fed was also just reignited. In other words, the war has only just begun.

The only thing that has really surprised me is how much Kevin has dissapeared. I have not seen him in the press since they got divorced and he could have been talking all over the media about how crazy she was. Maybe he was just laying low because he was playing her like a fiddle in private to get everything he could.

It was obvious to anyone she had serious problems before she went in. Switching clothes with people in clubs that you don’t know and showing your twat aren’t PPD. Everyone that saw her reported she was drunk. It was on Page 6 practically every day from people that saw her.
It means nothing that she posted negative when she was in there. Lots of people that do have problems don’t drink or use right before they go and test negative. That’s really meaningless.

Promises is a celebrity rehab & patients have the right to refuse testing. Brit probably refused testing until everything was out of her bloodstream. Alcohol & coke are gone in days. If she’d gone to a Betty Ford Clinic they would have showed her the door until she was ready to be serious & admit her probs. Everyone knows she was using…drunk & puking everywhere. Girl has mental problems & addiction problems. Sprinkle in some PPD & you’ve got a meltdown.

there was an NY Times article on celebrity rehabs and they have a horrible sobriety rate. Also, they don’t have accurate statistics on it, so it’s entirely possible that Britney is correct in this. I agree, she had a nervous breakdown. The girl needs boundaries.

This is just sad all around - if there weren’t kids tied up in the middle of this mess, it might be entertaining but wtf? Those kids don’t stand a chance - she’s clearly not going to get help (at the least she needs regular therapy - though she might be getting - doubt it). One thing is for sure - her career is O-V-E-R.

Is it normal for a person to have an attorney draw up a letter to your mother, then drive to BFE to deliver it to her? Does she dress with self-awareness or act responsibily? Huh? I agree with you that maybe the first reports are being held. Brit is probably paying them (Promises) off BIG TIME in order to hide the truth from the public/K-Fed/her family/even HERSELF. Then again, it has been mentioned previously that perhaps she just refused testing when she first arrived (which is bullshit that she would be allowed to do that, by the way). However, I can’t take you seriously when you type in all caps like that–it’s as if you are screaming and trying to be heard over everyone else. Chill out.
I live in So Cal and right now there are 5 rehab facilities in the Newport Beach area amidst residential communities. The neighborhoods are all working with the local legislators as we speak to try to get MORE regulations with these drug rehab facilities as they are very loosely structured. Each facility has its own rules and regulations (hours “patients” can come and go, lockdown rules, etc.). The homeowners are saying these druggies are ruining their home values with addicts walking around the corner to meet up with their dealers as they make their 15 minute “cigarette break” from the facility to go and get high.
So, depending upon how committed these addicts truly are, they choose the facility who has the structure they like the best. No facility has to give their percentage of “cure” rate–they really are a cash cow for the owners. Think of it–no insurance accepted, all cash business and no promise of “curing” you of your addiction! What a business!!
If you are commited to quit for good, I would say Betty Ford would be the place.
If you want to be pampered, get great gourmet cooking with an oceanfront view, Promises is the place to be.
I agree with Supernova, everyone keeps saying how’s she is making this big comeback, and in reality, when it’s all said and done, there will have never been a comeback. She’s finished, OV-A ans OUT for Brit Brit.

People refuse tests all the time, so that there will be no record of their substance abuse (that helps if you’re fighting to keep your kids). Now this dummy is looking to the rehab facility to prove she is an addict? What the f*&k was she doing in all those clubs? Carried out by bodyguards in a drunken heap. I would just like to know one thing: why did it take Brit and her team 5 months to come up with this fantasy story? Why not say it right there and then, and expose the alleged shady deal?

If they really forced her to enter rehab, a) they must have had a reason for that (to protect herself from substance abuse when she was not able to protect herself any longer, as we could all very well see on daily basis …) and b) must have had means (=information) to force her. It could only be a threat of disclosing something whichmight cause her to lose the kids. And what else was there but substance abuse?
You can’t just force someone into something against their will unless you have something on them. Especially someone rich who can afford all the best lawyers. And the alleged forcing, if it happened, could only have been for her own benefit. I don’t see a scenario where Larry, Lynne and Kevin would send Brit to rehab with joint forces in order to gain something for themselves.
Well I believe Brit alot more than the people trying to profit off of her. Cmon she married one of her dancers, and yeah she’s been lonely.
