Rachel Bilson has collaborated with DKNY to create her own clothing line. The 26-year-old actress was on hand today at Macys Aventura in Aventura, FL to launch the fashion forward yet affordable line.

Says Rach: “This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time… Fans of The O.C. really like DKNY Jeans, and I know they make great stuff, so I thought it could be good.”

The line, called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans (Edie after her grandmother, and Rose after a family friend), hits stores later this September.

Rachel has been heavily involved in the design process, as she explained: “I have a yellow scarf that I love and I was really inspired by it. I was so happy they were able to get that same yellow into the clothes… I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”

Miss Bilson joins a growing list of celebs, including Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and the Olsen twins, who have their own clothing ranges, but Rachel says she wants hers to be different: “I want people to see these clothes for what they are, not just another line designed by another celebrity. I want the line to be taken seriously… I also want to show people that you don’t have to pay a million dollars for clothes that look good. For me, I love vintage clothes and I shop vintage all the time. It’s fun to play and put things together. You don’t have to spend a lot to get a great look.”
