Stepping out to sign copies of his journals in London in a top hat, cravat and suit jacket, Pete Doherty channeled his inner Oliver Twist today at a London bookstore.

‘The Books Of Albion: The Collected Writings Of Peter Doherty’ features photos, artwork, lyrics thoughts and poems - details the troubled musician’s life from 1999 to the present. In it he talks about finding fame with his first band the Libertines, his battle with substance abuse, and of course, his volatile relationship with supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss.

Those wild party days could be a thing of the past, however, as he reveals in the diary that he may settle down with Kate – who he’s been dating since they met at her 30th birthday party. (She is 33, he’s 28.) A wedding could be on the cards if he can maintain a clean bill of health.

Pig could also out of his ass but I’m not holding my breath.

Ohh the sweat and grease…gross. If Doherty and Brandon Davis ever went into the sea together they’d create an oil slick potent enough to wipe out half of the world’s marine life in one go.

do syringes come with instructions on the package?

I feel that would be the only reading he’s be interested in (not that he needs them)

Pete Doherty, greasy he may be, is actually a very very well-read person. He studied English Literature and
won a trip to russia in a poetry competition. That being said, he should bathe more often.

Despite of the grease & messiness (the 1st pic gross me out), I believe in private he’s a well read, smart and witty, and even attractive (at times) guy… esp after I’ve watched that video of the 15 yrs old Doherty waiting to buy an Oasis CD. Maybe that’s why Kate is so deeply in love with him.

^ I agree. It’s too bad that people with such great talent turn to hard drugs. It’s like they think they’re not worth it… It hardly ever ends in a positive way….

he is SO good looking. omg. For supertalented people, drugs make failure acceptable. Knowing and understanding potential is just TOO scary. see LiLo

He’s actually very intelligent and he’s won I think some poetry award at a young age, I agree when someone IS talented, the whole chronic junkie-ness makes it all worse because you KNOW their potential unlike LiLo whose only potential is to end up a bloated has been by the time she’s 23. Doherty needs to fix up NOW but he doesn’t need people pitying him all the time, because I think he does try sometimes but when people are coming up to you and tutting sadly while going ‘what a waste’ then it must get irritating and he could think well ’stfu’ and just keep doing drugs.

I know it’s weird but I always found him attractive. I don’t know what the reason is, but probably because he doesn’t give a F.
