Joan and Melissa Rivers are furious over AOL’s decision to censor them.
The mother-daughter duo did their comedic routine on Sunday for the Emmys, and AOL was supposed to link to a chunk of it. But their segment was booted when AOL bigwigs thought it was too offensive.
In the routine, Joan cited the trend of men with “hair from the Third Reich. Tom Hanks - does that scream Nazi Germany? And . . . Julia Louis-Dreyfus - luckily she waxed her mustache. I know one of her neighbours, and if she leaves it for two or three weeks she looks just like Hitler . . . Heidi Klum? Super Nazi!”
Seventy-five-year-old Joan also referred to Eva Longoria-Parker as “Eva Longoria Porker” and ridiculed Oprah’s big “ass.”

Nope. I don’t believe in censorship even if I’m vehemently against whats being said-shown. Sometimes I think we give others more power by denying them a voice. As stupid, over the top insulting, and just not funny as I believe Joan and her daughter to be, maybe if she wasn’t muzzled, maybe her popularity would wain enough that she wouldn’t be hired to be on these shows.

Mirror and Junkie, I’d agree with you if it were the government censoring them. But it’s AOL, a private entity (which makes it not censorship under the law). It’s not obligated to broadcast her for any reason it wants. Personally, mine would be that she’s not funny.
