Kelly Ripa strapped herself into a harness for an interview like no other today.
The pint-sized television host hung upside down with David Blaine to discuss his latest stunt on Live With Regis and Kelly.
The two held arms throughout as she asked if anything scares him. His answer: “I’m terrified of insects. Beetles, spiders.” But what scares the rest of us is thinking about how he goes to the bathroom if he’s hanging upside down for 60 hours straight.
He stopped eating “about a week ago,” he says, so that he won’t have to go to the bathroom, other than using his catheter (ugh). “I’ll need lots of liquids so I won’t have to go into organ failure again, which has happened twice.” Other medical difficulties: Swelling of the eyes and “there’s the possibility of blood hemorraging in the brain,” he says, along with going into an altered state due to sleep deprivation.
Blaine is attempting to hang upside-down for three days outside of Central Park in New York City. Medical professionals have said it’s a bad idea as being in that position for so long could potentially leave him blind. However, the illusionist has made the decision to follow through with his intended stunt as people everywhere watch in shock and amazement.
Why do it? “I want to see how far I can push it.”

Is it worth to risk your health just because of implementing stunt trick? Or maybe it’s all fake, like many people think about Blaine and all his “magic”? He has no respect fot life , I hate him. So many blind people would be grateful to have a half of his vision , so many legless , armless , invalids would look at this prick with healthy body parts destroying himself FOR NOTHING. If he has done something for some scientific reserch to help find some cure or done dangerous tests in a lab I could understand this. But this….
I loveee David. He’s funny, engaging and amazing at what he does. He’s hurting no one and bringing real entertainment to those who appreciate his craft so STFU haters!!!!!!

If anyone is not a fan of David Blaine, then perhaps you’re not a fan of magic. This particular stunt may not have been all that exciting, but he is out to entertain those people who want to watch. More power to him for being able to do what he loves as his career and be successful at it. If only we could all say that much.
