Mariah Carey? Back on the big screen? Say it ain’t so!
The multi-octave pop diva is reportedly developing a Christmas movie to go with her Christmas album.
It’s about a town outside a city - perhaps not unlike Mariah’s hometown of Huntington, L.I. - where a ruthless developer wants to turn it into one big mall.
“Mariah doesn’t want to let that happen,” says her producing partner Benny Medina. “Her character uses song and love to keep the Christmas spirit alive.”
Mariah says the script, which “High School Musical” writer Peter Barsocchini is working on, is still in the early stages. But she tells us, “Since I recorded the Christmas album, I’ve always wanted to make a movie to go with it, something that people could watch and hear and enjoy every year. I’m into it. I’m all about the holiday season.”
Mimi said the same sorta thing when she was promoting her disasterous musical, Glitter.
She later suffered an emotional meltdown and checked into rehab for personal reasons.

She needs to realize that she is a grown women and has very little appeal to the masses.
She is looking pretty fat these days and that is okay. Thats what happens when you get older and thats why she should change her look from skank chic to mature and composed.
Her face is annoying to look at, what with it’s perpetual silly smile. She has a chubby chipmunk face which she tries to hide by smiling (showing the angles in her face). I wonder what she looks like when she’s not smiling…
I mean COME…ON… when is this chick going to realize that if she wants to be taken seriously as an actress, she should try just acting in a film for once. Evey movie this crazy does, she’s belting some climactic high-note somewhere in it.. enoughhhh already…
NO NO NO. I love Christmas and I admit I bust out her Christmas album every year but I don’t need a movie to go along with it. Glitter wasn’t too bad, but her acting was terrible…very fake and forced. She has a great voice, why can’t she just be happy with that and leave the acting alone.
