Dolly Parton taped a segment for The Ellen DeGeneres Show today.
The show won’t air until Monday, but here’s a little tidbit of what went down:
Ellen: “Your fans have actually said that they think you should run for office someday. That you should run for president. That’s how much your fans believe in you. Is that something you’d even be interested in? To run for office?”Dolly: “No, don’t you think we’ve had enough boobs in the White House?”

I love her! OMG she is so funny, and humble, and probably the most down to earth star in North America. She is the real deal, not literally LOL but she’s genuine and I would do almost anything to hang out with her for one night!
And I guess Miss can say whatever she wants about Dolly… it’s not like Dolly has never called herself a drag queen anyways. She’d laugh.
I love Dolly!!! She just says it like it is and she is so funny! I completely agree with you Shell and I see what you are trying to see. She doesn’t try and pretend she hasn’t had surgery and she knows how to make a joke about herself. I still love The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas haha.
Had she said this after 9/11 she would have been banned from all cuntry stations…kinda makes Natalie Mainse comments seem prophetic……Bush is an ass…he was so damn busy creating the war machine…that he let the things in his own back yard go to hell in a handbasket……domestic issues were whitewashed because of the fabled “weapons of mass destruction”…which ended up being a pile of old rifles in a ditch…..
Oh Dolly, rock on, sistah friend. So down to earth and genuine. And truly one of the funniest ladies in show biz. I am so excited about her new foray into the world of Broadway theater. What an amazing next chapter to such a fabulous life and career. As for politics, I bet Dolly is smart enough to remember that John McCain is one of the infamous Keating Five in the nefarious savings and loan scandal that cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. Something tells me that a woman as smart and compassionate as Dolly would be an Obama Mama!
