At last night’s Sex and the City: The Movie DVD launch at the New York Public Library, Sarah Jessica Parker and show creator Michael Patrick King confirmed that there will be a sequel.
Thursday night at the Public Library party for the DVD of the film, he and Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed it. He’s off to write the next installment. Both SJP and Kim Cattrall told me they’re excited to see what he comes up with.
King told me, quipping, “I’m thinking of doing an animated version of them as babies.” SJP added, “Let’s wring everything we can out of this thing!”
Eeek! We’re too excited. Let’s just hope the movies as good as the first. We certainly wouldnt want them to tarnish the shows legacy!

Another sequel??? I think that is a mistake and it will tarnish the show because I didn’t the movie was any good at all.
I would go see it……..
I thought the movie was great and very true to the show. I’m excited for the sequel!!
And hey 1# were you drunk when you submitted that comment???? it makes no sense!!!!!!!!!
FAIL!!!
SJP looks terrible there. And Kim has either had a boob job or is proving that bras make a small breasted woman go up 3 cup sizes with one bra.
WHY WHY???
Leave it were it is.
We all got the ended we wanted. Where can it go from here?
those eyes !!! did they all three have plastic surgery ????
Got to milk it for every possible dollar……
I only see one femaile in the picture - right in the middle. Other two are just some trainies.
Whoa, what happened to Cynthia and SJP? They look awful. Kim looks amazing here! I love her!
Can’t wait for the sequel, mom and me loved the movie - I remember having a nice mother/daughter time with her that day.
i think with the movie, they milked everything they could’ve gotten out of the SATC series. a sequel is overkill. carrie ended up with big. what more is there left to happen? plus, in the movie, you can tell that the actresses have aged since the series ended. i honestly don’t think that 40-50something actresses would have the same effect and appeal as they did playing their characters when they were 30-40something.
YAYYY!!!! Why the hell wouldn’t they do a sequel? Look how well the movie did!? I think that anyone who is a SATC fan will go to the movies just to see what happens next, even if they don’t think they are as good as the show. I personally thought the movie was done really well and was filmed in the same way as the show. I loved it! Can’t wait for the next one!
