KATIE’S BROADWAY DEBUT MARRED BY PROTESTERS

Lots of people showed up outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre tonight moments before Katie Holmes’s Broadway debut in a preview performance for All My Sons.

Among the masses were dozens of Scientology protesters who screamed and chanted “Scientology kills!” Others wore V is For Vendetta-style masks while holding poster that read: “FREE KATIE.”

Meanwhile, it almost looked like hubby Tom Cruise was going to miss Katie’s big show, but moments before the curtain went up, he magically appeared in the theater — much to the delight of fellow theatergoers.

Can’t say the same for the people waiting outside, however!

DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING is the most uninvolved sign a protester has probably ever held…LOL

I think this is completely unnecessary and just a horrible thing to happen to Katie on her big night. Katie and Tom are not bad people…they just happen to believe in something that is not mainstream and is not understood by a lot of people. I personally think Scientology is a little strange, but I would never not like Katie or Tom because of that. I think this protest is actually kind of scary to be honest. Leave them alone. If Katie wanted out I’m sure she would have by now.

they wear the masks so they can’t be recognized by the scientologists. if they don’t cover there faces they get followed home, stalked, threatened, etc.
    scientology’s a scary fucker.

That’s rude. As long as TomKat aren’t hurting anyone with their faith, they should just leave them alone. There are much more important things to protest against,

“Careful Now” What does that even mean in terms of a protest? You go to all the trouble of staging a protest and that’s the sign you hold?

The Careful Now and Down With This Sort Of Thing signs are from a tv series in the early 1990s called Father Ted. In one episode the two priests on a remote area of Ireland were ordered by their bishop to protest a porn movie and the stood there holding those signs.

You are incorrect, this is not V is For Vendetta-style masks, as it is the group “Anonymous.” It is an anti-Scientology group.

This religion values are as valid as republican values: disproportionally greedy, 100 % selfish, based on half ass trues that are never questioned with empirical science: very convenient power for the few that feed on it. Works wonders for those that want to justify their unfairness against others that they consider inferior

To think that they said that Katie got a standing ovation.. when all of them did..

This is what we can expect to hear about.. Just her… Way to go Katie bringing
Tommy the day before.. So that the premiere night you are coming out of the
    side door.. with John Lithgow..

I love it! I think it’s hysterical.. Don’t worry guys- (Stephi, BJB) Katies feelings won’t be hurt, it will just bring more of the publicity they so adore. Besides, someone has to warn the people of the dangers that come along with being a part of that cult. Look at what’s happened to our sweet, loving, happy go lucky katie..

I just don’t get it.. if they are serious about their “protest” Then why the smiling faces and not frowns instead?

They obviously made the signs like 5 minutes before standing outside the theatre. Seriously, I’m not a fan of Scientology myself, but do your homework people.
