It’s the end of an era: TRL is kaput!
For now.
After a decade, Total Request Live is leaving the air. Executive producer Dave Sirulnick said today the music video countdown show will conclude in a two-hour special on a Saturday afternoon in November.
He stressed that the show wasn’t ending for good, but felt now was the right time to give it a break.
Your feelings? Sad? Or are you — like us — convinced the show has been off the air for years?

what will all the rampant jonas brothers fans do now????? mtv has sucked for years. lets hope this is a sign of better things to come. though watching mariah meltdown in front of carson daly a few years ago was a classic tv moment.
More room for The Hills!
Does anyone even watch MTV anymore? The crappy channel has invaded Canada and it is just sad. The shows just promote the very worst of our society. Without getting too deep, good riddance!
I won’t miss it at all, that show was good only w/ Carson. MTV sucks anyway, even the so call MTV hits, it sucks big time.
Bye bye! Can the whole network just go away too?
wait,
less music videos?
about time, biatches!
God…now there really will be no music on MTV. There is hardly any music on anymore! Every time I turn it on its some marathon of reality shows! The only time they play videos anymore is in between shows. I think this is a really bad move for MTV to be honest. If the don’t play videos how the hell can they put on MTV awards and stuff? It would be like CNN hosting a music awards!
I thought MTV stood for MUSIC TELEVISION what happened to the music??????????????. I mean they would rather play a marathon of americas next top model for the billionth time instead of music videos! Such a shame. MTV sucks.
