Former alum Tina Fey returned to Saturday Night Live last night to play Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin for the premiere of the show’s new season.
She Amy Poehler opened the show with a joint appearance as Palin and Hillary Clinton. The two politicians addressed the ugly issue of sexism in the campaign.
Needless to say, the brilliant Miss Fey knocked it out of the park once again. The strange accent, the beauty queen smugness, that peculiar nose wrinkling. The physical resemblance was already a given, of course. The sketch was well-written and bitingly accurate. Unfortunately, the rest of the Michael Phelps-hosted show was drowned in poor cue card-reading and unmemorable jokes.

Tina Fey is so fierce; totally destined to mock Palin– spot-on voice; loved the posing & gun mimicing… Sad to not see her as a regular cast member on SNL anymore.
this was THE BEST. my girl crush on tina fey just grew exponentially.
AWESOME!!
.
if you can’t see it, go to http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/palin-hillary-open/656281/
stop hatin on Palin, she is going to be just as V.P.
They both were too funny! I could not believe how perfectly Tina had the accent and the manerisms of the lady from the great-state-of-Ah-LAH-ska.
palin’s biggest achievement: having 5 kids! Yeah that’s the way we measure political power!!
i thought the SKIt was hilarious, idont know what the big fuss is over her, if you dont like her, dont vote for her, that simple… Why are people afraid of her??
Actually, Tina Fey looks more like Christopher Reeve/Superman. The one comedienne who resembles Sarah Palin more, in terms of looks and hotness, is Melanie Chartoff who, these days, is doing more theatre than TV or movies.

Brillian! Brilliant! Brillian!
The skit was funny, but not as good as I thought it would be. Tina was perfect as Palin, even her voice was right on. The audience seemed uncomfortable and didn’t laugh at a lot of the funny lines. It was odd that nobody laughed when they said how weird it was that the republicans are screaming sexism from the press against Palin, when nobody said that when Hillary was getting so mch sexist press last spring during the primaries.
Wouldn’t if be funny if that really was Sarah Palin… Coming in so that no one
can do it.. She probably says those things so that people will talk about it.. and
it is true.. they are!

Why are people afraid of her??: because she embodies BULLISH stupidity, the same type that elected The clown of Bush, i did not like him I did not vote for him, but the herds of stupid mentality dig the cowboy bully strategy in all its emptiness!
THAT IS THE DANGER: EMPTY POLICIES, AND PEOPLE FALLING FOR IT, ONCE AGAIN, LIKE we are not in the sit whole the republicans made.
^ Oooh like that response a lot! It’s amazing that so many numbskulls still don’t “get” the problem. Thick as planks. I wonder if anyone saw Realtime with Maher on Friday? OMG they skewered Palin. But more than that it was really challenging discussion about the issues. One of his best shows in a long, long time.
Uhm, people are afraid of her because she is bat shit crazy. This is a woman who wants to undermine everything women have fought and died for in the past. She is a disgrace to women and hell yes she scares me. I want her to go home and raise her kids and stay out of my (and my childrens’) lives. Tina Fey was friggin hilarious in that skit! I like the end where “Hillary” told the media she could lend them her balls
Another example of the double standards shown by the republican party…. we only care about one’s family and personal life when it is a democrat… never mind the utter hypocrisy of Ms. Palin encouraging teaching abstinence,,, I also love the phrasing of “CHOICE” when it comes to Ms. Palin’s “CHOICE” to carry her baby full term or that Bristol’s “CHOICE” to have the baby was a private family matter… yet she wants to make those CHOICES FOR us… I thought they believed in smaller government? why is the government needing to be involved in my choices for my body.. or my choice not bring a child in this world conceived from rape or incest only for the parent AND the child to more than likely require care (foster, psychological etc…) which WE the tax payers pay for!!!! HYPOCRISY!!! Or how about all the lovely repub comments against Hillary that she is somehow less a person b/c of her husband’s indiscretions and therefore not worthy of presidency.. however, Ms Palin was accused of being part of a separatist group wanting Alaska to succeed from the US and the argument was that was her HUSBAND, not her so his affiliations should not reflect her views??? WTF??? Or does everyone forget that McCain cheated on and left his wife for his current trophy wife? If Obama had done that.. the repubs would be drooling over such info.. but no.. Obama has to be damn near perfect b/c the only indescretion we can find is affiliations with questionable characters… you know who else walked with questionable characters.. JESUS!! The McCain / Palin doctrine — for future reference.. “do as I say, not as I do” can any of them focus on issues and show me they no anything besides bigotry towards the world at large.
^^they know anything.. sorry.
I think that a lot of people weren’t laughing because the whole skit was spot-on–and THAT was more frightening than funny.
This skit was genius. And yeah, what IS that weird accent that Palin has? Did someone inject her with some Wisconsin? Either way, she’ll never get my vote. As if I’d vote for someone just because she’s a woman… such an insult to women everywhere. As ‘Hillary’ pointed out in the sketch, we don’t want a woman in the White House. We want QUALIFIED people in there. If they happen to be a woman… or black or Chinese… who cares, as long as they are QUALIFIED. Which Ms. Palin most certainly is not… ‘I don’t know what that is…’ ROFL!

“Inevitably, his work brought him into conflict with Palin and other highly politicized Christian fundamentalists in the valley. “Things got very intense around here in the ’90s — the culture war was very hot here,” Bess said. “The evangelicals were trying to take over the valley. They took over the school board, the community hospital board, even the local electric utility. And Sarah Palin was in the direct center of all these culture battles, along with the churches she belonged to.”
Read the article above… she HAS tried to ban at least one book.
also from the article:
Munger also asked Palin if she truly believed in the End of Days, the doomsday scenario when the Messiah will return. “She looked in my eyes and said, ‘Yes, I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime.’”
Palin is a freak. Educate yourselves, people.
seriously this palin freak is making a joke of the presidency! the skit was hilarious but so so true. she thinks she can even compare to hilary or any other standup hardworking dedicated woman that has dedicated their life to change! answer this question what has she really done? she basically got on the ticket to bring some much needed energy to the republican party…which she is doing but thats it. i compare her to a reality star…hot for a little while but pretty soon we won’t even remember her name!
