THE PRESSURE IS ON NICOLE

New mom Nicole Kidman was snapped with her George Clooney-lookalike bodyguard going into the Kneehigh Theatre in London for a viewing of Noel Coward’s Brief Encounter on Saturday.

Nicole recently wrapped re-shoots of the Baz Luhrmann directed epic Australia which costars Aussie hunk Hugh Jackman and is set for release in mid November. The film will mark the A-list star’s return to the big screen since the birth of baby Sunday Rose.

There will definitely be a great deal of scrutiny put on Nicole’s performance, as Forbes magazine has recently named her as the most overpaid actress in Hollywood.

Nicole is hoping to claw things back with her starring turn in the upcoming Baz Luhrman epic. Only time will tell whether she will be worth it!

I agree that she’s overpaid. Every once in a while she’ll have a good movie like Moulin Rouge but every movie in between pretty much flops and is just an excuse for her to get naked on screen….”tastefully” of course! I don’t even think she’s attractive….very average. There are wayyy better actresses out there than her that are not making nearly as much.

I think she is really, really overrated as an actress.

Let me get this straight, she is supposed to be concerned that her movies didn’t make their money back? Why should she care? the cheque already cleared in her account. If the producers want her then they should pay what she is asking, it is that simple. She doesn’t call the producers, they call her. Joel Silver said they had to work on her to get her to make Invasion and they paid her $16m for it. I don’t see anyone complaining with The Golden Compass that made over $300m at the worldwide box office. If Hollywood was that concerned, they would refuse to cast her in “Australia” with its $130m budget or ask her to be a part of NINE, another high bugdet project. Forbes can bleat all its wants but Hollywood likes paying her that much money, they don’t care. BTW, the producers of the flop Invasion are going to be making another movie with her next year.

Good on you, Nicole. Take the money and keep it. Whether the movie does well or not is not your problem, you will still get the scripts with directors and producers knocking on your door. Good for you. As a woman at the top, I applaud her.

Just to add, considering that her movies have been disappointing at the BO since about 2006 and Hollywood continue to pay her that much, Kidman doesn’t need to do anything because inspite it all, the studios actually make their money back in the foreign markets. Most of the stars who do good business in the US box office have bad foreign BO records.

So true. Her movies have made money overseas. Anyone can check that for themselves. One thing, though, I don’t think she has been able to be the actress she might have been before her divorce. Many people feel she hasn’t had the breakthrough emotion needed to create a character since The Hours. Though she is beautiful, she seems cold. Maybe she doesn’t trust herself. Still love her and try to see all her films.

Celebrities like Nicole really do so many wonderful things for the people. She deserves ten times more than what she gets. Her contributions to humanity can never be fully repaid. I pose this question: Where would we be without celebrities?

    ^ Certainly not here.

But imho noone should get payed multi-million bucks for appearing in a movie. Or should get a million for each episode of a TV show. that is a slap in the face of normal working people.

I don’t have anything against Nicole personally, but I have a huge problem with that jacked up cotton candy mess she has on her head. Ugh. She’s willing to inject god knows what into her pretty face but does nothing about that lank, freaky old lady hair. I just don’t get it.
