She’s already a fashion designer and reality star, and now Lauren Conrad is set to add author to her list of credits.

The 22-year-old MTV darling has signed a three-book series deal with HarperCollins. The fictional books will be geared towards young adults.

LC says the series is inspired by her experiences as a reality star: “It’s definitely influenced by my own life. The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities.”

But worry not — she adds that the series won’t be based on her fellow Hills stars – Audrina Partridge, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. “I’m not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren’t really mine to tell,” she says. “Some of the characters my symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out.”

The first book is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2009.
