Guess who was just spotted leaving the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City?
None other than Barack Obama!
The Democratic presdential nominee was on hand to tape a segment for tonight’s edition of the Late Show with David Letterman.
Might Obama address his controversial “lipstick on a pig” comment regarding VP wannabe Gov. Sarah Palin?
Republicans have condemned them as “disgraceful†and “sexist.†The Illinois senator says it’s an old phrase — one that McCain has used — in reference to the Republican economic plan.
What will the public have to say?

I agree…Sara Palin is a PIG!!!
The comment wasn’t about Palin! Jesus people, he didn’t reference Palin in that whole section of the speech. He was attacking John McCain for saying he’s about change, when he actually votes with George Bush 95% of the time! He doesn’t and won’t attack Palin–he’s not running against her, he’s running against McCain. And he doesn’t need to attack her once the media starts doing their job and revealing all of her lies about being a maverick and a pitbull with lipstick. Freaking seriously people. Don’t perpetuate the crap! People in this country can’t afford health care and can’t get jobs and people are dying in Iraq and we’re talking about a fucking comment that wasn’t directed at Palin (a.k.a. Bush in drag) anyway!
I was gonna leave a comment saying the same thing that the above comment states. Minus the commentary.
A**h***
the comment is the same thing McCain said about Bush.. same thing.. it wasn’t about Palin.. CHOOSE A REAL BATTLE!!! like education and the economy.. don’t knitpic everything Obama says… Sarah Palin is just of hot hockey mom… i know tons who could do just as bad a job as her.. being the vp… or parenting.
Esquire : couldn’t have said it better.
Wake up people! Start listening to the proposed changes. McCain’s rhetoric is empty: “I’m going to give America change.” Yeah… sure buddy, you’ve have 20+ yrs to bring “change.” Republicans are idiots. I remember shortly after 9/11 Bush said: “We’re going to get those folks.” “Folks” being the terrorists. How do these people graduate from college? Republican’s are morons.
ya know liberals,
it isn’t about whether he meant it or not…(also mentioning an old fish which i’m sure had nothing to do with mccain). it’s about him NOT being ‘post-partisan.’ this is old washington. this is not new, not uniting, and not refreshing. he’s frustrated. it’s showing. he’s aging by the day, and many of you are melting down at just a slightly slower pace than obama. only his ego and his fragile heart prevented him from locking this down by picking hillary.
and i thought he was sooooo smart. why then even say ANYTHING having to do with lipstick? everyone knows what palin said about lipstick a week ago. this man is a straight george bush MORON off the tele. uh uh uh ba ba ba because he’s one big illusion that you all could learn about if you read dreams of my father.
the man is a sham. none of you know him. none of you know who al monsour is. who frank marshall davis is. who saul alinski is. how deep his connections with ayers really are. it’s really too bad all this energy is being wasted on this candidate. it could have been spent elsewhere.
sad.
2. “The comment wasn’t about Palin!”—Esquire
Surely you aren’t that naive “Esquire”. If you watch the video, it’s absolutely clear Barack’s audience knows he’s talking about Paline. That’s why they begin laughing during Barack’s dramatic pause before completing the insult.
“He was attacking John McCain for saying he’s about change, when he actually votes with George Bush 95% of the time!”
Your facts are wrong. McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. However Obama voted with his party 95% of the time and Biden 96% of the time! So who has proven himself to be the candidate willing to reach across the aisle? McCain. So much for your democratic talking point. As for the rest of your ridiculous comment, the media is indisputedly far more favorable to Obama in its coverage than his opponents. Ask Hillary Clinton. No serious person believes otherwise. As for your whining about people being out of jobs, consider this. The unemployment rate during the Bush presidency is lower than it was during the Clinton years. And as for insurance, the vast majority of Americans (approx 85%) ARE insured. And the economy grew by over 3% last year. That’s better than Clinton’s last quarter in office. Don’t be such a pessimistic tool of democratic politicians. Think for yourself.
And great point Adam. Where is the “post-partisan” Obama he claimed he would be? Whether you think the comment was about Palin or not, clearly it wasn’t a smart thing to say. Where’s the vaunted intelligence and good judgement we hear so much about? The truth is, Obama can dish out insults and criticism, but he can’t take it without whining like a child. He’s unraveling before our eyes.
In an ad released Wednesday called — really — “Fact Check,” the McCain campaign lied about what Factcheck.org said. Says who? Says FactCheck.org.
In “its latest ad, released Sept. 10, the McCain-Palin campaign has altered our message in a fashion we consider less than honest,” Factcheck said Wednesday on its website. “The ad strives to convey the message that FactCheck.org said ‘completely false’ attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin had come from Sen. Barack Obama. We said no such thing. We have yet to dispute any claim from the Obama campaign about Palin.”

Wow… such moral, upstanding people that McCain/Palin crew… ROFL!
Please… Cheney used the same expression recently, as has McCain himself… funny how the GOP always seem to think they can play it two ways… unfortunately, they think they can do that with MY WALLET, and that’s not funny at all. I’m so sick of corrupt, scamming, lying, cheating Bush and his croneys and I sure as hell don’t want another 4 years of them. OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!
One last point. If Obama had shown wise judgment and chosen Hillary as a running mate and she had made a comment during her nomination speech referencing lipstick heard by the entire country and just two weeks later McCain made the same comment Obama just made, you liberals would be OUTRAGED!! Admit it. You don’t have to be honest to me. Just be honest to yourself. You would never give McCain or any other conservative the same benefit of the doubt.
10. “X”, the attacks on Paline by liberals has been disgusting. You would never excuse that kind of treatment of a liberal female candidate by conservatives. The Obama campaign is the last group that should complain about the fairness of accusations by the McCain campaign. If you recall, Obama injected race into this campaign when you preemptively accussed McCain of bringing up the fact that Obama is black when he said no such thing. Obama has also insinuated that McCain has questioned whether he was a muslim. Again, a lie. Obama also insinuated that McCain questioned Obama’s patriotism. Again, another lie. McCain never said these things, but that never stopped Obama from accussing him falsely.
If Palin wants to play with the boys she better get a thicker skin…The Republican attacks on Hillary were brutal…now suddenly the Democrats are on the attack??? Go on youtube.com and see how ridiculous the Republican party is
I too think he made a huge mistake by not pick Hillary as his running mate. He would have definitely had this election in the bag had he chosen her.. not he’s got to sweat it out and there is no telling how this thing is gonna go. That being said- NO WAY, NO HOW, NO MCCAIN!!!!
14. “If Palin wants to play with the boys she better get a thicker skin.” Jo-Anne
Jo-Anne, how disgusting it is of you to so easily excuse the bigoted, hateful, unwarranted attacks being leveled at this woman by liberals. You would NEVER stand for this type of treatment of a liberal woman and simply suggest that she “get a thicker skin”. Be honest. Not with me, but to yourself. Don’t be such a tool for democratic propaganda.
15. “I too think he made a huge mistake by not pick Hillary as his running mate. He would have definitely had this election in the bag had he chosen her.” —Suzy
Of course Obama would’ve won had he chosen Hillary. But he was too spiteful, petty and arrogant to do so. I think you’ll agree these are hardly the type of personality traits and poor judgement we need running the country.
