Host Russell Brand came out attacking U.S. politics, and fired off a round of jokes directed toward Republican vice president candidate Sarah Palin and her pregnant daughter.
The British comedian then moves to mocking the Jonas Brothers and their virgin status, and brought his routine full circle.
“Eight years of Bush are what the Jonas Brothers are going to have to cram into their bachelor parties.”
We can only imagine how parents of the tween generation were cringing in their seats.
Afterwards, the Joe Bros performed Love Bug acoustically, singing it outside on Paramount’s New York backlot. But due to their age and Disney affiliation, their Big Apple attempt came off looking a little Sesame Street.

How pathetically predictable. What is it about celebrities (pseudo celebrities in this case) and “artists” that they must all think in precisely the same cliched, childish manner when it comes to politics? How typically hypocritical and completely illogical that the same lefty that ridicules Gov. Palin’s 17 year old daughter for being pregnant would also make fun of other teens (Jonas Bros.) for not being sexually active. Then again, Russell Brand and his type aren’t exactly renowned for their intelligence, are they? It’s sad that Russell Brand is more concerned with having an original hairstyle than an original thought.
Wow Bea I couldn’t agree more. I think there are worse things than teen idols wearing promise rings. AND who is Russell Brand to say anything about our country?? He should stick to British humor.. He was awful and seemed coked out.
i know all of the teens are going to hate me for this but I totally agree with the sesame street reference. I thought at any minute big bird was going to join in. I expected something better from them.
These guys are really bad at performing…….and I really thought it was Sesame street too. I’m glad Russell Brand(who ever he is) made fun of them and their stupid promise rings.
Aslo I’m sick of the american idol people bringing all their british artists over here and shoving their crappy music down our throats.
