Flashback: For the first time since 1989, Harrison Ford dons the familiar costume (complete with bloody knee, it appears) in this photo taken yesterday as the upcoming ‘Indiana Jones’ adventure begins production under the direction of Steven Spielberg.

The new Indy is set in the 1950s and stars Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and Jim Broadbent. The Lucasfilm Ltd. production will be released by Paramount Pictures worldwide on May 22, 2008.

I love Harrison & I think it’s awesome Cate is joinging the cast. The Indiana Jones flix were always great entertainment to me. But, but…you forgot Sean Connery…he will be returning as well. Love Sean as Jr.’s Dad.

INDY!!! Yay, I’m excited :). I’ve always loved the Indiana Jones franchise. I thought Connery turned down reprising Indy’s dad though? Hmm, I guess my info. is outdated. Isn’t George Lucas directing the film? I really hope Spielberg’s influence helps to tone down all the inevitable CGI & exaggerated special effects that Lucas will no doubt include.

Aysla, I read that Connery is definitely joining the cast & Karen Allen is considering reprising her role as well.

BBC reported the Connery said “no.” http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6733177.stm
He doesn’t want to come out of retirement. I’m not too upset over that. It would be difficult to see how he has aged. It hurts a little to see how old Harrison Ford is - in my mind I want him to always be the mature yet youthful Indy. For some reason, Harrison Ford growing old is a reminder of my own mortality.

Pin…I am disappointed. I just read the other day that he was joining the cast. *sigh*

Crazy about Cate and Harrison and am very excited to see this film. That kid Shia LaBeouf is really getting some good films. I heard about Sean Connery not coming back and am disappointed but happy that he is so content. Must be nice.

I really hope Karen Allen comes back - she was my favorite Indy-girl. Harrison looks better than I though he would - I’m looking forward to this :)

Indy!!! This is terrific. I love the movies … they are the kind that you can watch over and over! I loved them all when they came out and then did the repeat with my son. You know kids … they go through spurts where they want to watch the same move continuously. Can’t wait to watch this one with him when it somes out.
