It was all eyes on Madonna as she landed by private plane at Rome Ciampino Airport today.
The Material Mom is expected to present her ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour at the Rome Olympic Stadium tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, despite currently being away from her children, the long arm of motherhood knows no boundaries. Madge has reportedly vetoed her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes’ plans to star in a new movie and banned her from any showbiz work until she has finished school.
The 11-year-old celebuspawn was apparently approached to appear alongside Paul Bettany and Dakota Fanning in the comedy drama The Secret Life of Bees.
But a source tells Star magazine, “Madonna didn’t work ’til after school and she wants it to be the same for Lourdes. She doesn’t want her to enter that harsh world.”
If Madonna’s acting chops are an indication of what lays ahead in Lourdes’ big screen career, perhaps it’s best she holds off a while (or forever!) from taking that big leap.

If only Madonna’s father had banned her from show biz.
I think it would will be very hard for Madonna to justify her stance to her daughter considering that she was the biggest pop star in the world!

I think Beyonce said it well… “A pop star has a life span”… and Madonna has just lost any kind of relevence. She should go to Vegas and do her act there.
This story doesn’t ring true. It’s doubtful anyone would have actually approached Lourdes. An 11 year old? No, they would have had to approach the parent. I think this story is just more trumped up celebrity gossip, Since so many of these stories are garbage, they all have to be taken with a grain of salt, in other words consider them BS until proven otherwise.
it’s good she wants lourdes to finish school first before pursuing show biz. there’s time enough for that. besides, lourdes is ahead of the would-be competition because she’s already famous just by being madonna’s daughter.
Madonna is incredibly relevant. She’s been re-inventing herself successfully for decades and has millions of fans to prove it. Jealous haters would like to believe otherwise but the facts speak for themselves.

Add to that her worth of almost a billion dollars and the success of her current tour, and she’s doing just fine.
Finish the Beyonce quote- she said a pop star has a life span, but an ICON does not. Madonna is an icon. THE female pop icon. She has been for a long time. So, nice try, but it’s pretty clear that Madonna isn’t even in the same world as any random pop star, so pretty sure she doesn’t have anything to worry about. Ever.
I can understand why people think Madonna is no longer relevant.She’s no Miley or Beyonce or Rihanna ( no specific order) .Madonna doesn’t have to PROVE any longer that she’s relevant.No one can reach her success during her lifetime…..so she can lean back now and do whatever she want’s..no one can destroy her icon status.It’s that easy…It’s just not the same with her…you can not be excited about what#s coming next….like with Rihanna…you can not ask..is she the next Madonna…because she IS Madonna and she has reached everything you could wish for….grammys,oscars,fame,family…..it’s annoyingly perfect..
