CELEBRITY QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I was saddened by this woman because I think she has contempt for people who don’t believe as she believes and there’s no discussion and the smile doesn’t help. Because remember now, this is the lady who believes that everything that happens is ordained by God including, I guess, the Iraq war and President Bush’s stances on many things. She talks about a do-nothing Congress with a do-nothing president. And the idea that no taxes are going to be raised is a joke. How the hell are they going to pay for everything? How are they going to pay for the war if they don’t raise the taxes? She wants to drill drill drill in Alaska. How about sugar ethanol? How about that as an alternative? There are a lot of alternatives. You’ll vote your heart, you’ll vote your soul, you’ll vote what you believe. This girl is dangerous to me. This is a very dangerous woman, because I believe for her intents and purposes, she’s OK if everybody lives a certain way, that is to say, the way God ordained men and women to be. Well, already she’s breaking that because she’s the daddy. She’s going to run the country and the husband is going to take care of the kids. I just found the whole thing sad and very musty and very much like a Bund rally, but maybe that was just me.”

You are both so right. She herself hesitated when she learned her baby had “special challenges” and she wants to give other women no choice at all ? If she was living by her own principles, I guess she should have embraced it, because if it’s God’s will to send soldiers to Iraq, then surely it is God’s will for her to have that special baby. I’m with Woopi on that one. That woman scares me. And I’m not even American !

Whoopi is exactly right. Sarah Palin is a dangerous woman and does not have enough experience with international affairs to be VP. Her support of people like Pat Buchanan and other religous lunatics is very scary also. If she gets in power then you can count on more American civil rights being taken away.

Sarah Palin had an affair while in her marriage. The scandals surrounding this woman keep growing by the day. Gampy McCain did not check her out anywhere near enough before choosing her.

funny how the media rips mccain for not vetting her and yet the MEDIA STILL HAS NOT VETTED OBAMA.
also funny that so many ‘privacy first-stay out of the bedroom dems’ are loving these scandals and refusing to even look at the larry sinclair/obama scandal, the birth certificate scandal, the raised by marxists scandal, the mentored by marxists scandal, the 3dead gays at his racist marxist church scandals, the frozen chicago apartments scandals, the bill ayer’s launched his political career scandals, the obama is still on drugs scandals, the obama was a stooge for a kenyan dictator scandals, the michelle tripled her salary after barack gave her employer a million dollars scandal, the foreign and over the limit campaign donation scandals, and so many more!

I think there is nothing more dangerous than a politician who refuses to see that everything is politics in one way or another. I can understand liberals/right wing who thinks economy is a strong force that sets rules that politicians have to adjust to (even though I myself believe in the power of politics even when it comes to the world economy). But a politician who thinks everything is ultimately god’s will??? So if Obama is elected, he will carry out the politics of god too? Or is it just people in the republican party that have these gifts? Where exactly is Palin placing herself in relation to other people and to god? As some kind of spokesperson for god? How can you even build politics on the belief that such a thing as god exists? To me it’s obvious that us humans have to manage on our own and build a society that is good for everyone to live in. We can’t have laws just to please a hypothetical higher power, that’s just rediculous. If someone suggested it in my country they would never be taken seriously again, because to us religion is something between you and whatever power you believe in. It’s not something that should affect the life of let’s say a pregnant teenager who doesn’t share your views but lives in the same country and under the same laws. (And as you might remember, I’m educated in social science so you who think only experts should comment on politics, you can take this seriously.)

More military persons died well Bill Clinton was president than when George W Bush was president. This is a FACT! Goggle it.

Obama has served 143 days in the senate (compare that to the everyday task of running a state)- the committe he serves on NEVER even met . Talk about expereince,

If you make over $75,000.00 per year as a married couple you are not considered middle class by Barack Obama. NONE of his tax plans will help you, YOU will pay more.

and one would think, that if obama wanted to be president since (kindergarten in a muslim school), that he’d have kept his paper records for everything he’s done instead of HAVING NO PAPER RECORD WHATSOEVER from law school, state senate, personal, health, or minutes from his current term (where he’s spent more time on the stump than in DC).

arasto, you and your ilk are only helping me and mine.

A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 37% hold an unfavorable view of the self-described hockey mom. …

The new data also shows significant increases in the number who say McCain made the right choice and the number who say Palin is ready to be President. Generally, John McCain’s choice of Palin earns slightly better reviews than Barack Obama’s choice of Joe Biden.

Perhaps most stunning is the fact that Palin’s favorable ratings are now a point higher than either man at the top of the Presidential tickets this year. As of Friday morning, Obama and McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters. Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.

Whoopie is clearly a racist, anti-religion bigot. Oprah isn’t far behind her in her refusal to have Gov. Palin on her show. Why? Because she’s not black and doesn’t share Oprah’s anti-American, victrat mentality. And for all these women hating on Gov. Palin and calling her anti-feminist, you’re wrong. She’s the postergirl for what a strong, intelligent woman can accomplish without the constant bitching and moaning of people like Oprah and Whoopie. BTW, Oprah seems to have made it just fine in this country despite all the “racism” and “sexism” she and her kind constantly bitch about, hasn’t she? That is true, the phrase “separation of church and state” does not actually appear anywhere in the Constitution. There is a problem, however, in that some people draw incorrect conclusions from this fact. The absence of this phrase does not mean that it is an invalid concept or that it cannot be used as a legal or judicial principle.
    .
There are any number of important legal concepts which do not appear in the Constitution with the exact phrasing people tend to use. For example, nowhere in the Constitution will you find words like “right to privacy” or even “right to a fair trial.” Does this mean that no American citizen has a right to privacy or a fair trial? Does this mean that no judge should ever invoke these rights when reaching a decision?
    .
Similarly, courts have found that the principle of a “religious liberty” exists behind in the First Amendment, even if those words are not actually there:
    .
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”
    .
The point of such an amendment is twofold. First, it ensures that religious beliefs - private or organized - are removed from attempted government control. This is the reason why the government cannot tell either you or your church what to believe or to teach. Second, it ensures that the government does not get involved with enforcing, mandating, or promoting particular religious doctrines. This is what happens when the government “establishes” a church - and because doing so created so many problems in Europe, the authors of the Constitution wanted to try and prevent the same from happening here.

  66. Anonymous
    September-5-2008 @ 3:20 pm

The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .” The phrase “separation of church and state”, which does not appear in the Constitution itself, is generally traced to an 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, where Jefferson spoke of the combined effect of the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. It has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court.

…Ironic that Rebuplicans claim to rise above hollywood and the media - and yet, judging by the comments, they frequent celebrity blogs twice as much.

You Don’t Know Barack Obama Until You Read This Book.

This new book — “The Case Against Barack Obama” is published by the same group that brought you “Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry” — the book that defeated John Kerry in 2004.

Already the liberal media has condemned “The Case Against Barack Obama” because it could change the outcome of the election.

Make no doubt about it, Barack Obama is the media’s darling, the fresh face of the Democratic ticket. But what does Barack Obama really stand for — and will his extreme liberal agenda and complete inexperience in global affairs endanger the country?

BILL MAHER mocks Palin’s Down Syndrome Baby.
In the monologue of his most recent HBO show, Maher noted that Palin has five children including an infant “that has Down syndrome. She had it when she was 43 years old. And it looks a lot like John Edwards.”

Obama wants universal health care…how do you think we are going to pay for that Whoopi? Just because she is a follower of God doesn’t mean Whoopi has to hate on her. Whoopi just likes to be controversial and I think she is scrapping to find something on Palin, nice try Whoopi.

  89. September-5-2008 @ 7:23 pm

    September-5-2008 @ 7:55 pm

Now Whoopi and Oprah are racists because they don’t support McCain/Palin? You do realize that if you make that argument then every white person who is voting for McCain must also be racist? Face it, many of you people are not voting for issues, you’re either voting for ideology or for cultural issues. Whoopi is a liberal black woman who has been in relationships almost exclusively with white men, how in the hell is she a racist? Oprah has elevated the careers of Nate Berkus, Rachel Ray, countless white authors, and Dr. Phil for fuc* sake. Her audience is predominantly white and her guests are overwhelmingly white. She hardly ever deals with racial issues and you are complaining because she doesn’t support McCain. Did you complain when she had Bush on during the 2004 election? Did you complain when she had Schwarzenegger on during his gubernatorial election? I didn’t hear anyone calling her a racist or any other names. That is the problem with Republicans, it’s not that they have their own beliefs, it’s that they want to tell everyone else what to think, what to believe, and how to behave. The beauty of this country is that we are free to make our own choices and it’s sad when ideological bullies come out of the woodwork to threaten a woman because she doesn’t support the candidate of your choice. That is not freedom that is fascism. And let’s not forget, Whoopi did not make this point on the view, she made it on a blog. Yet, you seem to have no problem when Elisabeth Hasselbeck makes her partisan remarks. Once again, no one does hypocrisy quite like the Republicans.

  93. Anon
    September-5-2008 @ 8:00 pm

Well, now about that Edwards’ story, you’re right the mainstream media avoided the story and it wasn’t until the Enquirer broke the story that the media responded. Yet, I didn’t see any outrage as every major newscast published pictures of Edwards’ love child and the woman he had the affair with. Now, let’s see if all of that outrage will continue since the Enquirer is working on a story about Palin and her husband’s ex-business partner. Let’s see if the praise and/or censure of the media is the same if the media follows the Enquirer story that Palin was involved with the partner and named in his divorce. Once again we will hear the Republican battle cry: when you have no issues and you’re caught, blame the media. Don’t worry our “followers” are stupid enough to believe this. Trust me, it works every time. After all, they’re sheep.

92.”Now Whoopi and Oprah are racists because they don’t support McCain/Palin? You do realize that if you make that argument then every white person who is voting for McCain must also be racist? “—”Hmm”

Once again, “Hmm”, you’ve displayed the illogical, intellectually dishonest thinking that makes you the most ignorant commenter on this blog. No one is saying Whoopi and Oprah are racists simply because they don’t support they don’t support McCain/Palin. What makes them racist is that they treat her differently than they would if she were black. Oprah has no problem endorsing Obama and having him on her show, but refuses to have Palin on the show despite the fact that she has far more to do with Oprah’s perpetual theme of empowering women. Gov. Palin is the postergirl for a selfmade, successful woman, but Oprah shuns her. It’s her right to do, but it’s also our right to call her out on her bigotry and hypocrisy—a right thousands of woman are choosing to exercise. As for your completely illogical assertion that any white person that criticizes Oprah/ Whoopi on this issue but votes for McCain is also a racist, you couldn’t be more intellectually inept. Unlike many Obama followers who blatantly admit they’re voting for him because he’s black (as well as those who don’t admit it like Oprah/Whoopi) McCain voters aren’t obsessed with identity politics that place race above qualifications/judgement.

    9. “I don’t like Elizabeth on the show LOL. I watched it for the first time! I have heard of the View and know what the show’s about (5 women talking) but boy… The Elizabeth girl talks way too much!”–”MeSoup”

You fail to mention that she’s outnumbered 4 to 1 on that show by bigmouthed liberals. She tries, but she constantly gets disrespected and bullied by those four she-beasts. Gotta feel for her. She finally dispatches Rosie McDonnell (proof that sasquatch does exist) only to have her replaced by the equally obnoxiously bigoted Whoopi Goldberg (i thought all the bad gremlins died?). Uggh! Can’t imagine why any woman would watch that pathetic show. (or Oprah, for that matter)

Shelly, this woman is what Rod Parsely, Hagge and the extreme far right have been waiting for and people like yourself who have no clue just how seriously it should be taken are what they have been hoping for. They want people to cling to their guns and bibles while they prepare for endtime warfare. I grew up in this and I know what I’m talking about. People are so brainwashed with this false idea of Obama being a muslim that they’ll let Sarah Palin and her dangerous belief system slip on past simply because people don’t want to think that someone “claiming Christianity can’t be as dangeriously extreme as someone interpreting any other belief system as a call to dominance over all “at any cost.”

I rarely ever agree with Whoopie, but this is one time when I do.

  106. TheMirror
    September-6-2008 @ 1:32 am

Bea, you must not watch the same view as I do. Sherry Shepherd is a Republican and generally she and Elizabeth are intune more than not. Whoopie changed from Dem to Indie about 6yrs ago according to her. I don’t know what Barbara Walters is, and Joy is Liberal Dem. That said, Elizabeth is the most rigid of the bunch in that she votes party and not issues no matter what where as the others all have suggested that they aren’t tied to one ideology and would consider voting outside their party.
