Socialite-turned-felon Paris Hilton spoke with E! News this afternoon and she revealed that she was “really proud” of herself for serving out her sentence and admitted there was a positive aspect to life behind bars.
Paris on how she’s changed in jail: “I’m so much more grateful for everything that I have, even just to have a pillow at night or food.”
Paris on fame after being locked up: “You know my gratitude has gone up so much and I just realize that the media used me to make fun of and be mean about it. Frankly [I'm] sick of it and I want to use my fame in a good way.”
Paris on not receiving special treatment: “I am behind glass and I want to give my dad a big hug and they won’t even let me do that. That’s how the rules are, you have to be behind glass. I’m not a criminal, I’m not dangerous, so it makes me feel like that. It’s hard but I’m stronger everyday.”
Paris on the future: “I just can’t wait to see my family and have a nice meal and be in my own bed and appreciate all the things I took for granted and never really thought much about.”
Well, it’s nice to see that Paris is able to tend to her press while behind bars.
The tabloid princess is due to be released from jail on June 25.
Something tells me the media hysteria has only just begun.

It kind of sucks she is coming out now. I feel like the media hysteria is just starting to fizzle out and now in 4 days it will be heavier than ever.

I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. I really hope this experience has changed her… I believe people can change. Although I’m not sure 20 odd days… or 40 or whatever (?) is gonna do it, but we’ll see.
I really hope she stands by her words and changes her lifestyle when she gets out. If she has changed like she says she has then I will have so much more respect for her and should a lot of other people. Not many girls would last a stint in jail, let alone one as spoiled as Paris Hilton. Even if it is only a few weeks. I have the feeling though that she is telling the truth. I’m gonna be staying at my friends place in LA next week so it will be interesting to see if I’m woken up by helicopters again!
