HE’S GOT HER WRAPPED AROUND HIS FINGER

Bristol Palin and her boyfriend Levi Johnston arrived last night to watch Gov. Sarah Palin speak with more than Bristol’s baby bump on display.

In addition to wearing a ring on her left ring finger, Levi wore something a little more permanent on his.

Looks like the self-described “f*ckin’ redneck” got the name “Bristol” tattooed on his left ring finger.

Let’s hope it works out better for them than it did for Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.

that is so ignorant and rude to call them rednecks.

^^^^ That is what he (Levi) refers to himself as!!! Just pure trash…that’s what this family is.

Come on folks open your eyes will you. Gov. Palin like Ann is a real woman, thats why the liberals fear her. She hasn’t had a prefect life but then again who has. She got to where she is because of hard work and dedication to her family.

I have a lot more respect for her then those soccer moms whose any problem is what fast food do I serve my family. Oh the Palin she has a job and helps to raise a family, she is a threat to me way of life, is what they think.

She’s a threat because she is something they never will be, honest, hard working and a true American. Who cares is who daughter is pregnant and unmarried. Last I looked she was the age of legal consent. Unlike Obama, she has opened her family up to the world, nothing about her or her family is off-limits.

  7. anonymous Says:

You all realize this is very dangerous: the Republican Party is proposing to put this woman (anti-choice, anti-gay marriage, pro-drilling, pro-guns,– and look at her! she’s a total stepford republican!), a heart attack away from being in charge of this nation! Meaning she could be the one appointing Supreme Court judges, and deciding who to go to war against! She’s who would be left in charge if McCain dies or becomes incapacitated, which — let’s face it — is statistically highly possible! Look at the man! He’s already doddering.

And this, by a party that refused to vote in a law to make sure women got equal pay for jobs that men occupy, that voted in laws to protect companies that gyp women out of equal pay, that want all women to hand over the keys to their reproductive system to the government, and who actually yelled things like “IRON MY SHIRT” or “Who’s taking care of your children” at other female politicians. They spit on women every day, and now they’re calling people sexist for not appreciating this little woman with the bun on her head as a substitute for Hillary.

Palin matters because she’ll appeal to working class folks in the rust belt and industrial midwest. That’s Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in case you’re not sure. Those states will decide this election and Palin will play there big time. I grew up in suburban Detroit with a UAW Dad. My home town was very blue collar with nearly everyone tied to lower middle class union jobs with the Big 3. A dirty little secret lives in suburban Detroit and polls won’t show it. It’s called racism. The last two Mayors of Detroit have fanned the flames of racism in the Detroit Metro area and that area is about as “swing” as you can get. They’re looking for a reason to vote for McCain and Palin is that reason. By the way….they don’t call Detroit Hockeytown for nothing. The Red Wings are king in the Motor City and a Hockey Mom will have huge appeal. It’s payback time in Hockeytown for all the pain Coleman Young and Kwame Kilpatrick have caused a once great city. Watch Michigan turn Red!

  12. Pumas for Palin Says:

F*ck the Liberal Media. Everybody know they have no credibility and are actively campaigning for Obambi.

  13. Lady Sarah Says:

Mrs Palin is a rare political animal. She’s all smiles as she delivers the hiss of death one second, then the next second her voice rings with deep seated love for her family and country. Then there’s that slight wrinkle in her nose, the wide smile, the natural unadorned beauty, stuff that can disarm a Putin or an Ahmedthenutjob, and Hugo Chavez would start sending free oil to Alaska just to make friends. But above all there’s the humility, modesty, common sense that tells me, This woman has been through more than most and has come through the wiser for it. This woman is made of steel, she will not only win this election for McCain but she’ll be around for a while, the enemy knows it and there’s absolutely nothing he can do to change the outcome. The nazi jackals of the extreme left demokrat “media” will bark incessantly at her, and I have no doubt that she will skewer them through their black puke-filled hearts.

I pray that the folks do not abandoned her thinking she’ll do the job for them so they can go about business as usual. The bureaucratic cancer is so many layers deep that no one can really break through it all. She’ll be able only to chip away at it so this place lasts a few more years before it falls pray to the demonkrat fascists.

It is amazing how simple republican ideology is, any sort of intellectual exercise will put a spot light on their egotistical, “let’s destroy all public policies” mentality. The survival of the fit in capitalistic terms, bringing guns and bibles as support of this barbaric way of government! Do they even know what is “public policies”? they call it communism! Way to simplify for the HUGE simple minded portion of America!
Let’s keep home schooled picking presidents for the world!

  15. anonymous Says:

So she’s Ann Coulter without the anorexia…so what?

Any lowlife could deliver a bunch of one-liner cheap-shots. It’s easy — claim your opponent believes something ludicrous, then ridicule that position you claim they hold. Or ignore a mountain of evidence and just make a bald-faced claim about your opponent…I mean, come on, it’s not like it’s hard.

It’s just the same old Republican politics of divisiveness, of trying to use personal attacks to overcome a complete lack of competence or ideas on your own side. People who compare her speech to Obama’s 2004 keynote speech are, quite simply, high — America rallied to Obama because they were tired of politics being about the same old trash-talk, and because they saw him as a guy who would break us out of that and unite the nation. Palin’s speech was…the same old extremist trash-talk we’re all tired of.

Look, America’s in a bad place, with a tanking economy and failing industry, fighting too many wars and losing our place internationally to countries like China and Russia. As a voter looking for solutions, Obama looks like the best option — he looks like a man who gets things done. McCain / Palin just looks like a bunch of petty politicians who will do anything to win so that they can preserve their ideology (the country be damned).

So, she can trash-talk. But like I learned playing basketball, at some point you’ve got to stop talking and shoot the ball. And over the past 8 years, every time the Republican party has been asked to shoot the ball, they’ve missed spectacularly. McCain/Palin haven’t done anything to make me think they can actually put one home — all they’ve shown is that they’re not above vulgarity and extremist politics.

And we’re supposed to be impressed by that? I mean, Ann Coulter’s been flogging that schtick for years…so what?

The GOP has nothing new to offer except drilling in Alaska, which isn’t that new—it will happen if this team is elected. They’ll also move to abolish abortion, and strike gay marriage—a violation of civil rights (it would be like to government making a law saying you you can’t interracially get married, which I’m sure some GOP members think should be law.

McCain/Palin is a recipe for disaster. She’s has NO foreign policy very similar to Bush’s foreign policy in 2000—NONE! and if McCain croaks, we’re fucked!

  18. Liberals MUST Be Happy Says:

A strong woman who has made it in a man’s world

A mother with a special needs child, that can juggle a family and a sucessful career.

A woman who broke through the glass ceiling, and beat the good ole boys at their own game.

A woman who can deliver a speech and come across, calm and assured as well as any man.

A woman with a loving “stand by your woman” husband.

A woman who can fish, hunt, play basketball, and is good looking to boot.

Is that not exactly what the liberals, and NOW have been barking about for years?

  20. I could be a liberal IF- Says:

I could live at home past age 30 and have my
mom do my laundry; I could sleep past noon and not worry about going to a job - I could just sit around and whine and complain that things
aren’t better for me. I could mock decent people who respect God, and ridicule those who say that things like integrety and honor and decency are assets. If I get bored, I could mend my sandels and protest the plight of the Polar Bears; maybe I could drop off “Stand behind the Polar Bears!” flyers on my way to the abortion clinic, not wanting to be burdened by my mistake in not dancing all night. I could
snicker at a man who lived for five years in a cage rather than give in to the enemy, calling him a wrinkly old white-haired dude. I could vote for Obama so that my dad could finally marry my brother’s son.
    I COULD, BUT THEN I’D
    DESPISE MYSELF.

  21. . x . Says:

What is her daughter wearing? I mean seriously, what is she wearing…? That dress is inappropriate on a seventeen year-old pregnant girl, and smacks of everything that is wrong about McCain and Palin.

Palin’s selection as VP is an insult to this country and all that we stand for, and especially, all that makes us great. Let’s face it, she was not chosen for her ability, experience or character (because she doesn’t have any of those)… she was chosen because she looks good on TV and in the papers. The GOP is betting on the apathy of voters with Palin. How shameful to treat our most treasured values and traditions with such callous and manipulative intentions.

  22. Alaskan Says:

The logic of republicans is: she should get people’s votes because she is the perfect STEPFORD WIFE! Guns, babies, home school! Are we like in the pioneers time?

    profound!

  23. Real Deal Says:

If you were a “concervative” (sic), you’d surely see the depths to which leftists go to smear someone they are deathly afraid of.

If Palin was a weak choice of no significance, there would have been a collective yawn by your friends in the media and they’d have gone back to writing flowering endorsements of the Obama.

Quite the contrary, as the saying goes, “Thou doth protest too much.”

There is genuine fear coming out of the liberal camps - and for good reason. You all bought into this “hope & change” campaign and awoke to find out that the GOP’s VP candidate is more experienced and accomplished than your party’s ticket-topper.

This is what happens when you live your lives through emotions instead of reason and common sense.

I am thoroughly enjoying watching the meltdown.

I was particularly OFFENDED when Olbermann compared Sarah to a fictional character, Tracy Flick (brilliantly played by Reese Witherspoon), in the movie, The Election. Another sexist comment.

My entire family watched Sarah last night, and we all loved her. Unlike the Democratic party, which claims to love women but spurns the best female candidate they ever had, the Republicans have restored my faith that a woman can aspire to higher-level political office.

Mike Murphy, who worked on Senator McCain’s campaign in 2000 but declined to join this year’s, citing tensions with top campaign staff members, can be heard in near-anguish talking about the fallout from her candidacy. “I come out of the blue, swing-state governor world, Engler, Whitman, Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush” he said. But the McCain campaign just decided to run with Palin, he said, adding “it’s not going to work.””

bh, the reason is that no one other than the harcore GOP wingnuts really care about the RNC:

“Viewing numbers for the second night of the Republican convention in St. Paul, Minn., are out and it’s not particularly good news for the party.

Some 21.5 million people watched the Republican convention Tuesday night, Nielsen reported this afternoon, down slightly from the 22.1 million who watched second night coverage four years ago.

By comparison, almost 26 million people watched the second night of the Democratic convention last week, when Hillary Clinton addressed the crowd”

The final night of the DNC drew enormous ratings, reaching about 38 million people.

  36. Anonymous Says:

I find in hilarious to hear Democrats whining about mudslinging and name calling. After all, wasn’t that what the whole DNC Convention was dedicated to? I also find it shamefull to hear the sexist comments coming from the Obama campaign and the Main Stream Media. Why is it that when you point out a Democrats inexperience and lack of correct judgement calls, they say you’re mudslinging? Why is it these leftist neo-marxists who frequent blogs like the Huffington Post or the Daily Kos think they know what’s best for the rest of us when they haven’t been right about anything in decades? Simple facts regarding Obama / Biden: Obama has done NOTHING in his political life to prepare him for the Presidency. Dirty Joe Biden hasn’t had a real job since before he was 29 years old! That was 35 years ago. All he’s done for the past three and a half decades is sit in the well of the senate, pontificating about how great he himself is. No great legislation, no true leadership. No executive experience. All Obama has done since getting elected to the US Senate is…run for President. What a joke.

  37. huh? Says:

The response to Palin’s speech by the Obama camp and supporters was, and apparently still is, to point out that she did not write her own speech. I believe it is time for all of America to know that even Obama does NOT write his own speeches. Does anyone else notice that Obama speaks much more slowly, doesn’t say anything concrete, and he hims and haws constantly when he does not have his teleprompter!!!!

  38. Happy GAY Says:

I am a gay democrat who lives in middle america. I am also an ER RN. I can tell you that Sarah Palin is well received in my area and it is John Glenn country. Our ER was at as standstill last night watching Sarah. Most “normal” down-to-earth Americans will relate to Sarah Palin. They will see her as one of them. Believe it or not folks…they produces support and gets votes. Most people voted for Bush because they felt like they could sit down and have a beer with him. They may not agree with everything McCain/Palin stands for but they will vote for them because they can’t relate to Obama/Biden. Women should wake up and see the sexism in democrats by the way they treated Hillary. And oh…by the way…people are really laughing about this “more of the same” the obama camp keeps coming out with…isn’t there anything else they can come up with? I am still on the fence with who I am voting for…but the sexism coming from the left wing media and the democrats are helping me lean my support towards McCain/Palin. Oh and where is Hillary?

“even Obama does NOT write his own speeches”

Actually, yes he does. There was an article about how he didn’t hire a speechwriter until his pres campaign was well underway, the the speechwriter was talking about how intimidating it was to work with someone who had written 2 books and wrote his own speeches. He went on to talk about how Obama will work up a rough draft, and then the two of them will edit it together. He said he felt more like a typist than anything else. I wish I could remember where that article was printed- TIME maybe?

And if you want to talk about speaking slowly and hemming and hawing when he’s not on the teleprompter (playing words he wrote) I think it’s because he’s not just spouting pre-memorized talking points and party lines. I look at it as a genuine response, that he’s thinking about the question and how he wants to answer it.

Say what you will about him, but don’t say he doesn’t write his own speeches, because it’s just not true.

You know it is really funny that the Obamas who don’t come from wealthy families and achieved everything they have on merit are somehow not as American or normal as Palin. Isn’t the American dream that you work hard and you can achieve anything you want, so why is Michelle and Barack’s American dream somehow less impressive than Palin’s? This couple has done everything that has been asked and they still receive the bitter racist attacks by Republicans. The Obamas are a seemingly happily married couple raising their children with good values and isn’t that what the Right has been preaching about for years. It seems to me that people are not identifying with what she said but in what her image is, you know the same people who have criticized Obama for being a rock star now seem completely comfortable when that rock star is one of them. If Americans vote for McCain because Palin is hockey mom who hunts then they deserve the government they get. The Republicans have been disastrous to middle class and poor Americans, but I guess cultural identification is more important than issues like feeding your families and health care. The same nation blinded by the compassionate conservatism of GW Bush is going to be bamboozled by the PTA stories of a hockey mom. She is Dick Cheney in a dress whose in bed with the same people. And that should make us all scared.

if you libs really think she’s easy to beat, maybe STFU and just do it then and prove this country isn’t ready for a woman to lead…like you dems did by passing one up TWICE.

For my part, experience doesn’t mean shit in this election - the 2 contenders (Obama and Palin - McCain won’t last 4 more years, he is doddering) don’t have a great amount of experience between them and that may be the best things going for them. Not totally ground down by the political machinery just yet.
Just give me the facts - whats the plan on the economy, foreign policy, education, social security, etc.etc. And then I will make up my mind and if my candidate wins - great. ^^ Great point #54, but the problem is both parties have been responsible for dividing this country and creating the hatred and cultural wars that you now see on all the blogs out there. Lately, I blame the republicans more than the democrats for this as they’ve occupied the White House for the last eight years and really divided the nation during the 2004 election with the gay marriage issue when there were more pressing matters to discuss (i.e. Iraq war, unemployment, etc). Let’s hope it does get down to the real deal with regard to the economy, foreign policy, education, social security, immigration, etc. But my guess is, it won’t. Campaigns tend to be about getting elected. Not what you will do once you are. Hate to be cynical, but history shows us otherwise.

Only a liberal would consider Gov. Palin’s success, responsibility and good judgement in life a negative. Would you prefer a candidate with past issues of drug abuse? Or a 20 year history of mentorship by a racist reverend? Or perhaps a friendship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist that regrets not doing more damage when he bombed gov’t buildings? Or a spouse that calls America “a down right mean place” that they’ve never been proud of in the past? I guess you do prefer that candidate. His name is Barack Obama. And if you’re not aware of all these facts then you have no business voting until you educate yourself on the candidates.

  61. Indy Says:

Well said Bea! I don’t think most Obama supporter even know about his past. I liked his personality at first until I began to look deeper into his record and positions. He would make a great preacher (as long as he didn’t preach hate like his pastor Jeremiah Wright), but a horrible president. Those are just the facts regardless of what celebrities like Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand and Oprah think.
