MEET THE PARENTS

Look at who we spied standing in line shaking hands with John McCain as he stepped off his plane at the airport in Minneapolis a short time ago. It’s babydaddy of the hour, Levi Johnston!!!

Joined by Bristol Palin, his knocked up gal pal (or should we say fianceé, since parents say the two plan to wed), the 17-year-old boy appeared cheery and not remotely frightened as he chatted with the Republican presidential candidate.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her entire family met McCain upon his arrival at the airport.

That must have been a cozy little encounter to say the least….

Palin believes that Evolution and Creationism should be taught
side-by-side in public schools. She said, “Teach both. You know,
don’t be afraid of information. Healthy debate is so important, and
it’s so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both.”

Yet she believes in “Abstinence Only” education and as Mayor she inquired about banning books at the local library! What happened to”don’t be afraid of information?”

I guess with Democrats it is and always will be politics as usual. What happend to the new Democratic chant “Change we can believe in?” Looks to me by yesterday and today’s comments by Deomcrats on this story that they are having a hard time with the practice of new clean politics. Now, why don’t you prove to us here that you are all going to practice what your leader is preaching and leave Palin’s children out of it.

Amazing. If this was anyone elses kid the parents would be hung out to dry by the same folk defending the Palin’s. The double standard/hypocrosy is just phenominal. I wish the kids the best because Lord knows they’re going to need it trying to live up to the model the Conservative Christian Right has planned for them, and the gossip rags they’re certain to be weekly foder for.

My God, people, 17 year olds have been having children out of wed lock since the begining of time and you make it out like she is the only one, she is just a kid, who is taking responsiblity for her actions, I don’t believe in abortion, there are to many people out there who want kids and can’t have them to murder a baby, don’t tell me it is not murder, I am 9 weeks pregnant now and at 6 weeks there is a heart beat and arms and legs, I had an ultra sound done and you can see all of it, so don’t give me that crap in freedom of choice it is your choice to have sex or not, after that you live with whatever comes along and if you don’t want to rase a child put it up for adoption. She is taking on that resposiblity and she is also taking on all the shit that has been said about her, If I were her mom I would be ripping people a new one. Lets get back to the campain!

sunshine……………..don’t try it. Don’t try and deflect or accuse anyone else for what McCain did. He didn’t follow the rules, and his so called honor doesn’t exist anymore as far as I’m concerned. He didn’t follow the rules because he didn’t feel he had to and in my opinion, he’s allowed desperation to take over where his honor once was. The McCain I voted for in 2000 no longer exists.

    and…….

It is not solely Dem’s calling foul so cease pointing the finger in their direction when there are Indies and even Republicans taking issue with the non-vetting, and this poor Palin bull sexism crap. I can’t believe you would be so blatantly dishonest as to even form your fingers to type accusations about “new clean politics” with the lying and hiding that’s been going on! You are a perfect example of how the so-called Right has done nothing but divide our nation, and pit people against one another. You’re a lier, they’re liers, and the boldness of saying what you do is straight from my God is scary.

Obama and Biden haven’t had to face what Palin has. 27 ethics charges against Biden during his career, but nothing mentioned when he was selected. His family problems are well documented and far worse than anything that’s come out about Palin’s family. Palin’s husband recieved a DUI 24 years ago? Well Obama has admitted using crack cocaine on several occassions in his past, why wasn’t that brought up during the Dem’s convention. You have been duped by the MSM and your obviously drinking the Obama Kool-aid. Wake up and admit that the attacks on Palin and McCain are far harsher than anything Obama and Biden have had to face, even though they have far more dubious past lives.

The Democrats forget that their beloved FORMER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON committed ADULTRY while holding the most prestigious and honored job in the United States of America. Then when asked about it…. he lied on NATIONAL TV…ie: I NEVER HAD SEX WITH THAT WOMEN!

NEED I SAY MORE! Back off her family and leave her daughter alone. Her daughter made her own choice Sarah didn’t hold a gun to her head. What if it was Hillary’s daughter who was pregnant? Would they be treating her the same way? Oh I don’t think so! They would justifiy the whole thing and put the blame on some one else… which is so typical of the Democratic Party.

I’m so stunned by the double standard but I shouldn’t be at all. This is a study in what some get to get away with in America and what others catch hell for even if it;s the same thing. Bristol Palin is just a good kid who made a mistake and is “taken responsibility for it” while on the other side of town, some other girl is getting judged, her mothers getting judged, they’re both getting knocked down by the same people raising up the Palins. She & The Mirror, first off, if she wanted an abortion, she could get one, you don’t have to have parental consent, and she doesn’t have to tell us a damn thing, she isn’t running for office, it is none of our business! 2nd, just because your are raped, (which is the only time I think abortion is okay or if the mothers life is in danger) doesn’t mean you have to kill a baby! How can 2 wrongs make a right? Second I don’t put anyone down who is pregnant at a young age, it sucks I had my first baby at 20 and not that I didn’t or don’t want her but if I would have waited, my life would have been easier and I could have provided better for her the older I got. They have a long tuff road a head of them, but they have families who are going to help them and be supportive.,…..Again this the issues on the ballot, lets get back to the race! Honestly, they need to drop both parties, and unite like our founding fathers were .Our founding fathers understood what it meant to be oppressed. They understood it so well in fact that they wrote arms protection into the Bill of Rights so Americans could defend themselves against intrusive government. The right to keep and bear arms has nothing to do with chasing away common burglars. It has to do with chasing away legalized burglars in fancy hats. All governments strive for more power. It is the nature of government.

besides, if one of obama the marxist’s girls got pregnant, or as obama the chicago graft machine says, ‘punished with a baby,’ he’d likely give her a drug to open her cervix up and have the baby i mean cluster of cells HOPEFULLY fall out and die…if not, obama would have JILL STANEK rock the baby until it died in a chicago hospital storage room with the others that obama refused to protect with BIAPA, even though OBAMA the double talking liar, added the verbage he himself, the student of frank marshall davis, said was missing from the bill.

The Mirror: I think you meant to call me a “liar”, not a “lier”? I however am unsure what I lied about?
Fact: The Democratic chant is in fact “Change we can believe in”, and Obama has said directly that this campain will not follow the same “old politics” of mud slinging and underhanded blows (i.e., bringing up other’s family members).
Fact: Obama directly stated the other day in response to this story that Bristol and all other family members should be left out of this. So far no untruths.
My friend, you act like you know everything. You come off as if you know Bristol Palin personally and are so damn sure that she had no choice about keeping a baby and is forced to marry this guy. You don’t know a thing about them, you only think you do. You are taking your assumptions and stating them as truths. You also act like you know for a fact that this information was now just revealed to McCain and there was no vetting process. You are confused about what is fact and what you assume to be true. I think before you go telling people off on here you should KNOW something is true. By the way, don’t call me a liar because I am not the one spreading untruths here.

Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP convention By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer
    1 hour, 38 minutes ago

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.

    Some examples:

PALIN: “I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending … and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress ‘thanks but no thanks’ for that Bridge to Nowhere.”

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a “bridge to nowhere.”

PALIN: “There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate.”

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

PALIN: “The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars.”

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama’s plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain’s plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

MCCAIN: “She’s been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America’s energy supply … She’s responsible for 20 percent of the nation’s energy supply. I’m entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America,” he said in an interview with ABC News’ Charles Gibson.

THE FACTS: McCain’s phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she’s no more “responsible” for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.

MCCAIN: “She’s the commander of the Alaska National Guard. … She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities,” he said on ABC.

THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under “federal status,” which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska’s national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.

FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin “got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States.”

THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor’s election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.

FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: “We need change, all right — change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington — throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin.”

THE FACTS: A Back-to-the-Future moment. George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.
