Taking a break from her aspiring country music career, a typically gorgeous Jessica Simpson was all smiles as she departed Beso restaurant in Hollywood last night following a dinner date with her stylist Ken Paves.
The actress/singer kept her look casual yet stylish rocking a black wrap top, flared jeans and an oversized hobo bag.
Meanwhile, in a new interview with E! Online, Jessica admits that she came close to quitting her music career following criticism of her Dolly Parton tribute performance in 2006.
“You know, what happened at Kennedy Center, I really thought I was done singin’,” she says. “I was just at a place where I’d lost a lot of confidence and I didn’t even know who I was. But Dolly totally took me under her wing and helped me up and over the cares of the world. It went from the Kennedy Center to her being a part of this record and getting letters from her of encouragement. She told me she’s never been more proud of anything in her whole life. And I have it written down in her handwriting! I do owe a lot of my confidence to her.”
Asked if she has any more acting projects lined up, Miss Simpson replied: “Hopefully there’s more acting to come. I’m not closing that chapter of my life by any means. But I am all about the music right now.”
We’re still not sure whether that’s good news or not….

She should stop singing and do TV. She is hot but cant sing to save her life.
Is that what she is supposed to be, a singer? Because you would never know it. It’s not like she makes hit records or anything. She couldn’t even perfom Dolly Parton’s song “9 to 5″ without fucking it up so badly they had to leave it out of the show it was on.
I’ve always liked Jessica Simpson. However, she cannot sells records and she is a horrible actress.
Then what the fuck is there to like? She can’t sing worth shit. She can’t act worth shit. Her clothing lines are all hideous. Her shoes are fugly. What is there to like? She’s an ignorant, talentless, uneducated country bumpkin. I wish she’d just go away already!
