90210

So, how bad did it suck?

Last night’s lackluster premiere proves why the show was not made available to critics before it aired.

Here are a few reviews of the show.

EW: It’s “corny but trying to be hip, crammed with subplots until the producers figure out which ones the audience responds to, and cast with mostly young faces that its network (The CW) prays will become teen idols.”

-Variety: It’s “a pallid copy of the original fish out of water story only with shinier cars, fancier clothes and Botox aplenty.”

-Hollywood Reporter: It “doesn’t embarrass as much as many had feared.”

-Boston Globe: It was “pretty bad.”

Our thoughts? Fun and contemporary? Or did it simply pale in comparison to the original?

I watched it and I was very disappointed. The characters need a lot of development and it just isn’t that good!!

It was horrible!!! Who do I talk to to get my hour and half back???? They crammed every imaginable plot and story line into ONE episode. What is too happen in the upcoming season?

They moved too fast on this one, hoping it would catch rave reviews like Gossip Girl… nope there is no one to compare to Blair….. also why does the rich chick.. Naomi (I think) look older than some of the parents? Come on!

I used to watch the real one back in the day…and I am one for NOT redoing old shows.

It was pretty bad. And within a few minutes of the show there was a guy getting a blow job in his car fro ma slutty high school girl. I think they’re trying to hard to be risque. And I agree, waaaay too many plot lines. they’ll use up all the ideas in the first 5 episodes, then what? I hope Shenae didn’t quit Degrassi!

This show was sheer trash. And why all the “teenagers” who look like 35 year olds? I was a freshman in high school when the original show premiered and despite most of those characters being adults in real life, they still looked like high schoolers. This new round of kids are absolutely not believable. The girl who played the lead was very good, but everything else was a waste of money and air time.

what is everyones problem…i thought it was pretty awesome…yeah obviously it will never be like the original, but i think it was a lot better than some other shows that are on TV right now…and as for character development, it’s only one episode in…let’s wait a few more weeks to really judge

I’m 40 years old and it was totally worth the 2 hours I spent watching it. I was a big fan of the 90210 back in the 90s and I’m glad to see them bring it back again. All the girls are hot and the guys are pretty hot too. I get horny watching them.

I’m 36 years old and I love the show, was a big fan in the 90s, too.

That being said, I also enjoyed Main in Mahattan, as well as the occassional wine and cheese party.
