The cookbook author has filed a slander suit against the disgraced comedian, soon after filing one against his wife Jessica claiming she stole her Deceptively Delicious cookbook ideas. Lapine objected to the fact that Jerry called her a “wacko” and “mentally unhinged celebrity stalker” (among other things!) on David Letterman’s show after the incident first blew up.
So, what does Jerry have to say for himself? In legal papers filed yesterday in Manhattan federal court, he says that he didn’t slander Lapine. He cites several episodes of Seinfeld in which he mocked frivolous lawsuits — including an episode where Kramer wins free coffee for life in a court settlement because he got burned on gourmet roast — and argues that he was just mining the situation for laughs.
He’s hoping to get the lawsuit thrown out.
Isn’t it funny how being a crook and a slanderer quickly makes a former comic…not even funny? If Jerry wants to use his 1st Amendment rights, he should stand up, apologize to the woman and then admit his wife did steal the woman’s ideas. Some word for word.

God I can’t stand the arrogance of this man!
Piss poor excuses for his big mouth, just admit you were wrong, settle and move on.
Why, when you are richer than all fuck do you think any lame ass excuse will be accepted.
Is anyone actually saying…”Oh, I see his point, never mind?”
Asshole.
he won’t apologize cause it will cost him , he is a greeeeeeeedy man……
Putting veggies in other food is not an original idea and the first woman did not invent it. I can’t stand Seinfeld but as a comic, he does have free rein to make fun of a situation for laughs. It’s called the 1st Amendment.
Missy may not have invented the idea but she was the first to put it into a book and label it a concept. I feel sorry for her because it was Jessica’s book that got all the attention because of who she was married to, and that must have sucked for Missy. I think Jerry’s defence is extremely weak as well, the court cases in Seinfeld were made up! This one is for real and it’s not funny or comical when you make fun of someone and pretty much label them a looney.
That’s why I don’t buy celeb books.
I’m a huge fan of the show, but not the person. He is very greedy and wrong. What he did on Letterman should cost him a Porsche or three.
Original or not…. the concept is stupid.
