Barack Obama makes a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention today after he and running mate Joe Biden officially won the nominations for their Party’s presidential ticket.
Earlier, former President Bill Clinton ripped into the GOP and hailed Obama’s “historic chance.”
As day three of the convention wrapped up, it was announced that there was a “surprise special guest.” Senator Obama then took the stage to frenzied cheering and applause.
While his celebritydom is in question, there’s no doubt that Obama is a total Barack star!

I wish people would shut up about him being a celebrity. He has done nothing remotely like what celebrities do, he has just gone about his campaign like everyone else. The only reason he is being called a celebrity is because of all the celebrity supporters and the fact that John McCain compared him (stupidly) to Paris and Britney. He’s got tons of supporters, so if that makes him a celebrity then I guess he is?

When I saw Bambi boy kiss that woman on her lips - IF that was me he did that to…I would have kicked his ass all over that stage. That alone was rude, unthoughtful, showed no self respect at all, and a disgrace to his own wife.
IMHO - that kiss on the lips was uncalled for and it made me puke in my mouth, then I spat it at the TV, because he and others thinks he is a damn “Superstar”.

C’mon people, let Obama have his pomp and circumstance – it’s what he’s all about, all flash – no substance. He has a dream – to be President. Period. Just like he had a dream to be Senator. Wasn’t ‘cause he wanted to go to Washington to do great things for his constituents or his African-American brothers and sisters. He simply wanted to be a Senator. Once that race was won, that’s was the end – he’d achieved his goal. He then did nothing. Voted with the party when he bothered to attend. Chaired a committee who’s meetings he almost never went to. Now his goal is to be the Prez. And when he wins (and he will win) – that will be it – goal achieved. The rest will be all speeches and photo-ops, and dinners and coffee club meetings with other world leaders. When Russia starts taking back by force all the little now-independent satellite countries that used to be part of the Soviet Union. He will have study sessions on the problem. When Iran (with a wink and a nod and a push from Putin) gives terrorists a couple of suitcase nuks to use, instead of the IEDs they now give out wholesale in Iraq and Afghanistan – and we see Washington, or Chicago, or Dallas disappear – Obama will talk sternly and set up a round-table discussion. But then what can you expect from someone who a third of the country is voting for simply because of his skin color. Me – Id rather the first Black President be a Powell or a Rice – with something inside that makes them not just a Black American, but a great American, but , instead we will elect an Eddy Murphy, on image, with nothing to back it up – and that will be the legacy of the first Black President. Way to be a role model Obama.
Its strange how this dem. politicians seem to forget whos been in control of the house and the senate for the last year, and none offers any kind of list of acomplishments. wonder why anybody? ever since the dems took a hold of dc is when fuel started to go out of site, and property sure began a down trend, employment hasnt got any better and I dont see any unity in thier party, so, quit talking about the last 8 years of Bush and say something about the last year with the dems in power in DC and not a darn thing has been done…thank you

They have only just begun, and I personally want them to pull out all the stops because then, and only then will decent Americans “no matter what color, race, religion or political party” finally see these devils for who and what they really are, and how truly destructive to America and all it was meant to stand for they are willing to be to keep America how THEY want it to be.

The dems were in power for 40 years and they did nothing…hell they’ve been TALKING about alternative energy for 15 - 20 years and never did anything…they are only good at portraying anyone who doesn’t think like them as rich, white, racist republicans who don’t care about anyone…when in fact they are the party that pits each other against one another by dividing us by ethnicity and oppressing the minority communties by bribing them and brainwashing them into thinking they can’t succeed without the ‘entitlements’ from the Gov’t from cradle to grave. Obama can’t relate to the common American. The very fact that he’s having his acceptance speech in the middle of an 80,000 seat football stadium is proof that he’s more interested in the glam and the lights than the actual job — which is why he falls to pieces when anyone asks him questions and the teleprompter isn’t around.

The only positives Obama has are style points. He is completely devoid of substance. Hope and change? Let’s hope Obama changes his Marxist views, cuts his ties with terrorists and anti-American icons, dumps this Leninist collectivism and gets on the individual liberty bandwagon. Obama is on the record as being against individual liberty in favor of collectivism. The democrats don’t love this country…they loathe it. One cannot stand up for everything which chips away at the very foundations of our nation and still be a patriot. I am surprised that the Obama folks aren’t discouraging reference to the stadium by its “Invesco” name. It is named “Invesco” for a failed 1990s “go go” stock mutual fund family now owned by a British company — a far cry from the White House or a Greek Temple! BigBlueABCD

I’m surprised. First, Obama was hailed as the man who will save america. Now that Hillary is out of the picture, he is seen as a media-friendly person with no experience and no agenda. How did that happen? For me, Hillary would have been the one with a chance against McCain, and after voting for him as the candidate, suddenly alot of people seem to agree who earlier told me that Obama is by far the better choice. After all, he never had any experience and has always been more image and less substance. What happened? Did McCain somehow cause this landslide or is there some propaganda doing on?
