Mackenzie Phillips was busted again. This time she was arrested at LAX.
The One Day at a Time star was allegedly stopped during the screening process and security found baggies and balloons believed to contain heroin and cocaine. The 48-year-old actress is currently in custody.
Mackenzie has a long history of drug abuse. As a child, she reportedly rolled joints for her dad, John Phillips, a founder of the Mamas and the Papas.

I feel for her! She never was able to kick her habits and I put all the parents. How could they be so irresponsible?
It’s scary how an adult can be so stupid. Especially one who has been in trouble before.
Forgot to say that I do feel bad for her, it’s almost like she never had a chance with her family being like that.

Have lots of friends that swear to wrapping joints up tight and then sticking them in their vaginas until landed in said destination..can’t say I have tried that myself, but sounds “wiser” than the carry-on idea.
Though, I enjoy some kick bud just like the other hippies do.

Is this woman ever going to clean up her act? She’s no spring chicken and here she is with these hard core drugs. So much for staying clean “for my son”..
Why did she have that in her luggage??? She wouldn’t walked right through if she’d had them on her person. She’s got more balls than I do, though. It really has to suck to be a lifelong drug addict.
Uh, are we sure the drugs were in her luggage? The article only says they were in her possession. I’ve never heard of someone toting drugs in a balloon unless it’s inserted somewhere…moist.

Always wondered what happened to her—guess I know now—sad thing to see.
I’m truly sad about this. Her dad helped to set her on a path w/o realizing that his kid shared in an addictive personality and would have a much tougher time gravitating away from destructive living. That said, she’s still alive and as such there’s still every chance for her to get back on track. Robert Downey Jr and others have been given a new chance time after time to get back in the living game so I’m praying and rooting for her to do just this that.
