America’s Next Top Model kicks off this year featuring Isis, the show’s first transgender model/contestant Isis.
The show debuts on September 3 on The CW, but the network has posted interviews with the contestants on YouTube.
Isis talks about what makes her special and her excitement to compete in hers.
“I think I bring a lot to this competition that might give me an advantage… I’m saying, I really want this… I think I’m creative and unique.”
We hate picking early winners (it never pans out), but we can’t help it — Team Isis!

A transgender model??? Give me a fucking break!! Whats next dressing up pets as models? Ridiculous!
I think this is kind of weird. I’m all for gay rights and transgender rights but isn’t this like faking to be something you are not?
i’m totally ok with this. it’s modeling and i can kind of separate it in my mind as human beauty…but she is just not good looking!
i agree with adam. if she was a good looking tranny, i’d totally root for her. but she’s simply not pretty. however, the makeover episodes sometimes do wonders (sometimes make them uglier) so all hope is not lost for isis.
Yeah, you never know if someone is a good model until you’ve seen them work. As for the gender thing, I think modelling and fashion is about creating images, it has nothing to do with being “true” or “fair”, it’s not sports!

Doing whatever to get them ratings up…Believe it or not, IMO - this will hurt them more.
Your complaining about the model being MTF? Have you ever seen ANY of the judges on the show? I am not sure how this will hurt the show…
