With just days to go until her new album, Do You Know, is scheduled to hit stores, Jessica Simpson is on promo duty letting her fans know that she’s made the transition from pop to country!
Rocking a lacy white bustier top underneath a simple plaid shirt and her trademark cowboy boots, the blonde country bunpkin belted out some serious notes during a concert in Sacramento, CA last night.
Hours before she took the stage, Jessica opened up in a new interview about life, love and the new direction in her music career.
Jessica on the story behind her new record: “I hadn’t been singing for a long time, and I finally got to that place where I was comfortable opening up again. I’d been going through a divorce, and I wasn’t really strong enough to (sing); I had to go through the hurt and healing. I had to sit back and relax and go through everything like a normal person would. Out of that came the music, and out of that came the record.”
Jessica on the biggest misconception people have about her: “I don’t know if I could pick just one. Ummm, that I’m just in it for the money and the paparazzi – they really think that what they see in the tabloids is how I live my life. When we did “Newlyweds,” I felt that people really got to see me for who I am – the fun side of me, the hardworking, normal girl who burps and falls flat on her face.”
Jessica on whether she would do another show like Newlyweds: “No! Oh no! At this point, I’d much rather just share myself on stage, through my music.”

I am so sick and tired of people picking on her. Like any of you have never made any mistakes ever in your lives??? You have never failed at anything, spelled anything wrong, told a joke that didn’t make people laugh at, tripped while walking, etc. I could go on and on. I give her credit for falling down and getting right back up again, not many people could take that abuse. This is America, last time I checked, and you are pretty much free to choose your career(s) and do as you please. Who are we to say she should go away or stop doing concerts?? I don’t think any of us would like it if someone said that to us. If any of the naysayers ever took the time to listen to her, she can be very articulate and sweet and funny. It’s just that many times the media shows us the blunders and we judge on that. I am not trying to preach but I just can’t stand people picking like this. It’s so very immature and ignorant.
I think she is HOT damn it.
I do not do the country shit, though my momma does…anywho - I listened to her CD, and to me and alot of others, not to shabby.
Well said pak31, I’m not a Jessica “fan” however, I do think that everyone should have a second, third, etc chance. She hasn’t killed anyone and isn’t a pedophile. SHe doesn’t deserve that much “hate.”

I think she looks really really good!! The whole country look suits her and it’s something that she’s kind of been incorporating into her look for a while, so I don’t think its like all of a sudden she’s changed her look. I think that she’s really honest in her interviews as well, she doesn’t try to make herself sound amazing.
