Sheryl Crow was among the first celebrities to arrive to Denver for the Democratic National Convention, which begins today.
The Strong Enough singer rocked out at the kickoff event at Red Rocks Amphitheater on the outskirts of the city last night alongside acts Dave Matthews and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles.
After pleasing the crowd with a medley of her hits (a few lyrics re-worked to include references to Barack Obama), Sherly addressed John McCain’s claims that his Democratic rival is merely a celebrity — not a leader.
“That tag that Sen. Obama’s been given is a campaign ploy, obviously, by the Republican party,” she said . “I don’t see him hanging out. I have yet to see him at any celebrity events.”
Speaking on non-celebrity events, the DNC is expected to see A-listers such as Oprah, Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, Susan Sarandon, Gwyneth Paltrow, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson and Matt Damon through the week-long extravaganza!

This should be a great for the Democrats and the Republicans have got to be worried. They (repubs) will not get a boost after their convention beacuse they just wont have any appeal.
