We sorta knew this all along, but “Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year.”
Brit’s manager Larry Rudolph confirmed this morning on Ryan Searcrest’s KIIS-FM radio show that his superstar client will not be taking the stage following last year’s disasterous performance.
Since she’s clearly not rehearsing, what is Britney up to? “She is in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to perform at that show.”
But fret not, Britney fans — she’s still up for three VMAs — including “Video of the Year” — for her song Piece of Me.
After 17 nominations, let’s hope the Susan Lucci of the VMAs scored her first Moonman this year!

Her music career is over and has been for a while. She should concentrate on being a TV actress. She can do well there.
Last year her peformance was funny as hell! I’m sad she’s not gonna be able to make me laugh this year.

I don’t think she should have been performing anyway. It’s still way too soon. I think it’s great that she’s getting to work on her new album, maybe she will be able to put the past couple of years and the last album behind her. I thought Blackout was actually really awesome, it sucks that there was no promotion and that there was more talk about Britney’s personal life than her music. I think it would have done way better.
