While his wife Jessica is busy plagiarizing cook books, Jerry Seinfeld has signed up to be one of the key celebrity pitchmen in Microsoft Corp’s $300 million advertising campaign aimed at changing its image.
Debuting on September 4, the overhaul comes in the wake of Apple’s “Mac vs. PC” ads, which feature a nerdy PC guy getting upstaged by a hip Mac counterpart.
The cost of getting Seinfeld to appear in the ads with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates? A cool $10 million. Because, you know, he’s so hard up for the cash.

Money hungry. He always has been. So is his hack of a wife.
Love Jerry and he will be great in the ads. Kinda sick of the Justin Long and his ads anyways. Team Microsoft!
This is soooo not funny! He got all this money while the true genius of the show was and always will be Mr. Larry David.
Jerry is hilarious and he will kick ass!
10 Million? i thought it would be a lot more considering they are spending 300 million. Jerry buddy…you got ripped off!
Oh god, not sure who I can stand less, JS or Jeremy Clarkson.
Both make me ill.
No, Jerry will not kick ass darlings. Much as I like him, you all overlook one very important FACT: Microsoft’s products sucks and the company is going to hell in a hand basket (um… Vista? They admit themselves it’s the hugest mistake they’ve made in years). The fact that they need to draw “big talent” to sell their crappy products should say it all. Apple has managed to do this without using one celeb in ANY of their Ipod adds because the ipod is actually A GOOD PRODUCT. Marketing 101. Duh. They should take the money they’re giving Jerry and put it back into product development.
