PHELPS MAKES IT 6 FOR 6!

Michael Phelps made it 6-for-6 at the Beijing Olympics, closing in on Mark Spitz with another world-record swim this morning.
Phelps dominated right from the start of the 200-meter individual medley and powered away to win in 1 minutes, 54.23 seconds. He knocked off his own mark of 1:54.80 set at last month’s U.S. trials, his sixth world record of the games.
Congratulations Michael.
Now bring on the track and field!!!

There are really good swimmer, then there’s Michael Phelps. He is just in his own league. I’m really sad that Thopre retired though. That would have made a really exciting 200 m free.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like him? Yes, it’s one thing to be a great athlete, it’s another to be humble and likeable as well- although the latter of these traits are not something Americans value- but he just seems pompous, roaring like an idiot when winning.
And besides, his face is just tragic

^^^^Yes, I believe you’re the only one. When has Michael Phelps ever come off as pompous??? And I would be ‘roaring like an idiot’ too if I won that many damn gold medals. Stop hating! The man has set a world record in every race. He SHOULD be ecstatic.

AGREE HOTBITCH! #4, you can not IMAGINE what it feels like to be the VERY BEST in the whole world.. even better than you’re own best! That is competition.. that is raw emotion.. that is a CHAMPION RECORD HOLDING-RECORD BREAKING kick ass.. show of emotion. when you win A gold medal.. come back and talk to us…

Ok…am I the only one who noticed his package?
Btw….I am proud of him and he should be excited and screaming and crying.There might be something wrong if he didn’t do those things.

Good for him, he channeled his ADHD and pain from bullying into something great and Patriotic, where others just decide to become victims and place blame everywhere else.

Anyone who begrudges this amazingly talented athlete any type of screaming or celebration after winning a single, tough race is a dickhead pure and simple. He has trained his entire life to reach this level of skill. Phelps is dedicated, disciplined, motivated and successful. If that’s not something to cheer and scream loudly about, nothing is. I don’t know anyone who isn’t thrilled for him and all the althletes of the world. They all work so, so hard. (btw check out his dolphin style talents on an NPR clip.)

he may be a good swimmer but he sure is ugly.
