KELLY’S TOUR GETS CANNED

In a public statement issued just moments ago, Kelly Clarkson announced her summer tour has been postponed…for the time being.
From her rep, Paul Freundlich:
“Plans for Kelly Clarkson’s summer tour have been shelved for now as the singer and her team re-evaluate her show’s size and scope – a decision made even more difficult by the impending release of her album.”
Attached to the statement was the following from LiveNation CEO Michael Rapino:
“Ticket sales have not been what we anticipated and we came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew. In the end, we are in the Kelly Clarkson business and for that reason we believe that this decision will only benefit her and her fans in the long run.”
Uh-oh….is this like when Mariah said she wanted to tour “small venues for a more intimate feeling” following her meltdown?
Stay tuned!
UPDATE: On her website, Clarkson apologized to fans for the change:
“I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y’all. In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.
But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better.
Thanks for all of your love and continued support.”
More coming!!

It seems like she is having a lot of issues right now in her career. I wonder what the deal is… I think she is a good singer and seems like a sweet person but she is having to fight with a lot of people to get this album and tour going.

I feel bad for her, but I’m happy she stands up for herself against all the bosses, it will benefit her in the long run that she is not just a pushover like Brit Brit and others. Look what good it did them!!

At least she’s not a sell-out.

too bad, I usually enjoy her music!

My girls would like to see her in concert — hadn’t watched American Idol so didn’t go first time around.
How much are ticket prices these days?

Damn! I got myself tickets and was excited to go. I’m not such a huge Kelly Clarkson fan, but I just LOVE her voice. She has such a natural talent and wanted to see what she sounds like live. Oh well, maybe another time… I wish her well. I hope she won’t have a meltdown or anything like that!

Sounds to me like there just isn’t enough interest in her tour, therefore not enough ticket sales. I don’t mind listening to Kelly Clarkson on the radio or whatever but I would never spend money to buy her album and definately not to see her in concert. It’s not that I don’t like her, its that I don’t like her ENOUGH. I’m really not liking that Never Again song either….she just screams way too much and sounds whiny.

whats the bet that she’s really skinny again when the tour time rolls around?

^They probably are on her ass to get some of that weight off. It is pretty pathetic really that it matters. On another topic I saw this video today: http://youtube.com/watch?v=5dn0vLITY5Q
Avril is a cunt and I hope her career tanks. That is the rudest thing I have ever seen a famous person do.
