Since joining the Today show, ratings have declined — from 1.9 million during the four weeks before, to 1.7 million during the four months after, reports The New York Times.
NBC says the decline is seasonal, a function of the summer and not the talent. And, people love to complain, says Jim Bell, executive producer of Today. “The feeling here is we love Kathie Lee,†he said. “She is unique, she’s a character, she’s colorful and she’s not afraid to speak her mind. I don’t think we’d have her any other way.â€

I found her very annoying always!! The network doesn’t make a difference.
She was made for morning TV and I think she is pretty good at. They all have that fakeness about them though.

It’s the combination of her an Hooda. They are truly awful together.
I can’t watch the show. Hooda is too newsie and Kathy is trying to entertain.

Considering people actually tolerate and like (gasp!) Kelly Ripa, who is phony and annoying, I suppose Kathie Lee will find her eventually find her place. In my opinion, Kathie Lee started this whole fake, over-the-top, annoying, in-your-face perkiness business. She pretty much owns it, and just might reclaim the title…as much as I despise it. I’m sure Kelly Ripa feels the competition because they are VERY similar, although Kathie Lee is older and wiser.
I won’t lay all the blame at her feet. By the time the 3rd hour rrolls around, even Matt, Meredeth and the the first run gang hosting would be a bore. The few times I’ve checked out Hoda and KL, it’s all about KL. The woman needs to be alone! She’s sucks up all the air and makes everything about her. It’s a combo of really nothing left to talk about and her talking away about herself lol.

She’s annoying. I like Meredith Viera and when Ann Curry isn’t talking in a whispery voice she’s cool too.
I can’t look at her face because it always looks like her nose is melting or partially caving in.

oh please! Hoda Kotb is bad enough but Kathy Lee is absolutely unwatchable. The things that fall out of her mouth are such stupid blather. It’s embarrasing she has a job at all–she is so clueless!
NBC cancelled Passions to make room for her??? At least Passions was entertaining, Kathy Lee I can’t watch for even five minutes.
What is NBC thinking? Kathie Lee is SO inappropriate. There is no wit to her constant chatter. There can be no serious content as she is always trying to add some comment in attempt at humor. These remarks are rarely ever funny and detract from the content. She has said some horrid things. I have watched her ruin show after show and can no longer view this segment of the show.

pls “can” her! I agree KL is not funny, I no longer watch the program, I cannot tolerate her. She is overbearing, clueless, inappropate with her remarks especially the day I happened to hear the segment on Michelle Obama’s hair products etc etc. what are you thinking???
On the other hand, I love Ann Curry. She is calm, inquistive, knowledgeable and sensitive.
Kathie Lee is perfect for this morning slot, What a wake uo call for the of stations …….much better then the VIEW. Hooda has really developed into good interviewer, she more then holds her own with the veteran Kathie Lee
Hoda obtained her undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism. …she not only holds her own when it comes to banal Ms. Kathie-me, she excels despite her. If the network loves Kathie-me so much they should give her her own show and allow the ratings to tell the story. ..not allow her to ride the coattails of the Today show franchise, nor drag down a talented REAL reporter .
I can not stand the name dropping, stuck up woman. Just what all of the regular folk need, a rich braggart who talks about her rich friends and all of the things she gets to do. This country is in real financial trouble and people are in dire straights, but MS Moneybags is with her influential buddies and counting her money.
Kathie Lee has always been over the top and is not one of my favourites. Love Hooda and she needs to put KL in her place once in awhile as she can be very overbearing!
I just love Hooda and Kathie Lee together. They seem so genuine and they compliment each other. Im so glad this show is on because im definetely not a Rachel RAY fan…the show has a little of everything and the 10:00 time slot is perfect. thanks NBC.
