BERNIE MAC PASSES AWAY AT 50

Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who worked his way to stardom from humble beginnings on Chicago’s tough South Side, died early Saturday at the age of 50, according to The Associated Press.

“Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital,” his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement.

She said no other details were available and requested that his family’s privacy be respected. Earlier this week she had said reports of Mac’s serious illness were overstated and that he was expected to make a full recovery.

Our thoughts are with Bernie’s family.

So sad and shocked, and I’m praying for his family and friends and all who loved him because I know if it’s affected me who didn’t know him, it’s got to be doing a number on those who are close to him.

I keep thinking about his OCEAN’S boy’s, and I know without doubt it’s knocked them for a loop. They were all friends offscreen too and people don’t realize that I think. They didn’t hangout necessarily, but they all support/ed each other and that’s fact. Again, I know Don, George, Brad, Matt, Casey, Carl Reiner.

Mr Reiner was a semi-reg on THE BERNIE MAC SHOW, Don (Cheadle) played “Cousin D”, Matt Damon came on. The man’s presence will be missed. I miss him already.

I can’t believe he died! That is really sad. I don’t even know how you get pneumonia but I just thought it was a really bad chest cold. That seems weird that a 50 year old would die from it.

Oh my…I did not expect this at all. How terrible, and how young he was. I never saw that much of him but what I did I thought he was hilarious. There are some funny things that go on with hospitals not taking illnesses seriously enough. I hope there’s a bit more of an investigation into this one. RIP Bernie and may God be with your family in this hard time.
