Jessica Simpson continues to crack the Nashville market.
The country star performed yesterday at the Indiana State Fair, appearing as a headlining act for the first time in three years. (As you may recall, Miss Simpson reportedly was heckled when opening a show for B-list country act Sara Evans in Wisconsin back in July.)
Jessica performed a slew of material from her new album, Do You Know, which is scheduled for release in September. Crowds offered the strongest and most positive response when she performed the title track, which Dolly Parton kindly wrote for her.
Even with Jessica’s surprisingly impressive showing, the night featured one strange byproduct of her pop life: Seven state troopers escorted her father, papa Joe Simpson, when he walked amid members of the audience.

She may not be a very good singer but she is damn hot and that is very important. lol!

I think she’s trying way too hard. She’s doing the stereotypical country look but it’s horrible on her. Retire the too-short shorts and for god’s sake lay off the accessories. She needs to take some notes from Carrie Underwood.
Thank you “me” for stating the obvious. For some reason, Jessica thinks country must equal trash because that’s the look she’s going for. Yes look at how classy Carrie Underwood is (looks, voice and demeanor) and then compare to the absolute trainwreck that is Jessica Simpson. The CD will flop and she’ll be doing another reality show within 3 months. Daddy Simpson needs his money.
At least Jess doesn’t use anything to enhance her voice to make it sound like what it not like Carrie Underwood. I would like to hear Carrie Underwoods true voice without all the gimicks.
Carrie sounded awesome on her run on American Idol. Check out her version of “Alone”. Simply amazing.

Carrie Underwood sang raw on every American Idol show, and could sing rings around Chestica Simpson.
Jessica looks like trash compared to Carrie Underwood. Her talent is not in the actual voice or performing, her talent comes in acting like a dumb blonde bimbo, and men eat that up.
She goes overboard everytime she gets dressed. Too much of make-up, accessories, or too little clothing.
I haven’t seen another country star dress this tacky-ever.
Jessica tried to sing live once on MuchMusic and blew it blaming it on a cold. She also crapped out on the Dolly tribute, so it wasn’t just a one timer. I am not a country fan but Carrie Underwood can sing circles around this mess without any enhancements.
Her body is looking awesome, and I think she pulls off the country cowgirl look quite well. I don’t like her hair like this though, too severe pulled back…it’s nicer when she wears it wavy and long.
Her legs look short and stumpy. This girl just better thank her lucky stars she is where is now without one bit of real talent. (other than being pretty)
Country is music is perfect for her.
