TOBY KEITH: OBAMA ACTS WHITE TO WIN

Toby Keith, the country crooner who so famously performed a pro-lynching anthem on the Colbert Report, has slammed Barack Obama with language that startled even the conservative radio jock Glenn Beck.

During his appearance on the July 30 broadcast of Beck’s show, he remarked, “I think the black people would say he [Obama] don’t talk, act or carry himself as a black person.”

So, how does a black person act and/or carry themselves? We dunno and neither does Toby. “Well, I don’t know what that means,” he says, “but I think that that’s what they would say. Even though the black society would pull for him I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason he is in [the general election] is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian.”

Our thoughts? And before y’all go bananas with the whole “typical country music singer” thing, keep in mind that Toby considers himself “a Conservative Democrat who is sometimes embarrassed for his party.”

On behalf of the Democratic party…..the feeling’s mutual.

Obama also pretends to be a centrist when he is an ultra liberal by his voting record bodering on socialism.
Coming from a racist / radical church for 20 years. He needs to explain himself. We are waiting.

Let me get this straight, because Barack doesn’t fit into the stereotype of a ghetto black man he’s acting white? This could be the dumbest thing I’ve heard all year. As a black female who enunciates her words, went to good schools and has a good job does that mean I’m acting white? When people are given a platform to speak their mind they don’t always say the smartest things but this is America so I guess free speech comes into effect here and we should just leave it alone. Let the man say his piece and maybe if we ignore him he’ll stop.

Uhm, I have been thinking this also. Obama is a great man with a great mind but he is not the “typical” everyday black person in America. On that same note I am white and George Bush is nothing like me and other everyday white people. The majority of us are led by people who do not lead lives that are even close to our own. Obama is a rich black person who has a wonderful education and a great family life, that is not typical of most families today black or white.

Whatever. I’m black, with one degree from a top 10 school and a master’s from an ivy league institution. My husband is a doctor. All of our friends are equally educated and successful. You shouldn’t get all of your ideas about black people from tv. There is a whole world that you have no idea about and you only make yourself look ignorant when you speak on these things. Just last week over 25,000 of my sorority sisters were in DC marking the centennial anniversary of the founding of our sisterhood. 25,000 highly educated and succesful black women. Please my2cents, you sound like an idiot.

My2Cents: I think the word your looking for is “stereotypical” not “typical” but thanks for proving “stereotyping” is still prominent in America and that it’s enablers are still unaware that they are even creating them.

Wow. He should take a look at his own grammar: he DON’T talk? Yea. Ignorant redneck who is confusing uneducated, low-class people with race. I went to school with african americans and work with them and I would be embarrassed for them to ever find out a statement like that was made about ‘them’ (black people).

Because you talk educated you are acting white? That is beyond offensive and embarrassing. Glen Beck is such a worthless ass by way. He has no appeal and tries to be funny and it just doesn’t work. It’s embarrassing.

    August-6-2008 @ 1:49 am

Yah because ivy league educated people and doctors spend their time on celebrity gossip sites all the time. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I was not saying that black people are not educated, that is not the case at all. For that matter there are a whole lot of dumb ass white people running around. I am just saying that the problems that are in society today and the people having them would not relate to a person like Barack Obama. He is an exceptional person that has led an exceptional life regardless of color.

  15. August-6-2008 @ 2:41 am

Well Mr. Toby: What a sad country you’d have to live in for a “black man” to “act white” to win?

So an “authentic black man” to you wouldn’t be fit for president? That’s makes the the country looks worse. And Michelle Obama is just as intelligent and competent as Hillary and Obama.

Will someone please shoot this fucking redneck douchetard in the HEAD already? GOD, I hate Toby Keith!!! And I’d like to say that I think that my2cents actually made a good point: as long as we’re all engaging in the act of stereotyping, let me just say that George Bush does NOT represent me as a Caucasian — that is, I’m not a moronic, antienvironmentalist, dogmatic, greedy, warmongering, oil-loving, gay-rights plundering, women’s rights-destroyer with a messianistic complex. It’s honestly never even CROSSED MY MIND, personally, that Obama isn’t “typically black” or some shit. Yeah, I know he’s not Eazy-E, or Jay-Z, or Puff Daddy. The majority of the black dudes I know are ALSO nothing like those aforementioned three men. I respect Obama and am supporting him (and am ridiculously excited to vote for him) because we might actually have *gasp!* an ARTICULATE and vastly INTELLIGENT president for the first time in eight years. SHUT the fuck UP, Toby Keith. You’re not a Democrat, either. If you love and support George Bush, you’re an evil little Republican just like the rest of ‘em. And the fact that you have to delineate what your standards of “blackness” are means that you deserve to have your tiny little penis slowly gnawed off by wolves. Now go shoot a gun, thump a Bible or salute a flag or something.

Alright, my2cents. Now you’re beginning to actually expose yourself as kind of an idiot: “Yah because ivy league educated people and doctors spend their time on celebrity gossip sites all the time. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.” I just sort of defended you, and now I’m sort of sad that I did. I’m sure Claire Huxtable is just as apt to care about Britney or Brangelina as Roseanne Conner. You know — since we’re still stuck on fictitious stereotypes.

I just want to say that this election is no about race, it is about, who is best qualified to get us out of the messes we are in, but still protected us form radical muslims and terrorists. I hate that this is turning into a race thing, everyone (in my opinion) to some degree is prejudice. We all are afraid of someone different, until we get to know them, at least I am. But, I don’t think all black people are bad or stupid or ghetto. They are just different, on the outside than I am. I just hope, that if and it is a big if Obama, gets in to the White House, that we will embrace each other as Americans, and not have the blacks beat the whites or vice versa if Mc Cain gets in. I haven’t looked at Obama as a black man, I have look at him as based on what he has done in the Senate and who he has kept friends with personally, and I am not voting for him based on that! Not because he is black, but because I don’t feel he can handle the problems facing America today, that started with Clinton and has been forced on Bush. Although, he surely hasn’t been one of the greatest presidents either.

  22. Ernestine

Obama the Patriot - Removes American Flag from His Plane

    The Patriot Room
Posted on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 8:11:07 AM

    By Bill Dupray

Barack Obama recently finished a $500,000 total overhaul of his 757.

And as part of the new design, he decided to remove the American flag from the tail…

What American running for President of the United States would remove the symbol of his country?

And worse, he replaced the flag with it with a symbol of himself…

“I respect Obama and am supporting him (and am ridiculously excited to vote for him) because we might actually have *gasp!* an ARTICULATE and vastly INTELLIGENT president for the first time in eight years.”

    THANK YOU!!! Well said #19…

#21-”everyone (in my opinion) to some degree is prejudice.”

My professor once posed the question “If you were on a train and there were two open seats. One next to a white guy dressed in a ‘thug-ish’ outfit (i.e. baggy jeans, loud headphones, low hat) , and one next to a black guy in a ‘thug-ish’ outfit, which seat would you choose to sit in?” I thought it was a good question to determine whether you possessed some/any amount of prejudice. In our class, those brave enough to speak openly about racial stereotypes (including 2 black girls) chose to sit next to the white guy. Claiming they “would feel scared sitting next to gangsterish black guy”. Me, being born and raised in a virtual race mixing pot in NY, said that I didn’t care if they were white, black, or spanish, if they looked threatening then I wouldn’t sit next to them. Then quickly added “Unless they were Asian, because those guys never look dangerous”… j/k. My point is that I don’t feel that your necessarily “born” prejudice. It’s your environment and your upbringing which determines how you perceive a person of another race.

What does that mean? “Go toward the “black” family”?
“He has hardly ever been present to vote as a Senator, then when HE WAS there to vote, his voting record is very skitchy as hell.”
I think not voting is better voting with President Bush 95 percent of the time as the Congressional Quarterly’s assessment of McCain’s voting record show.

Obama stalls in public polling. Three demographic groups have generally kept Obama ahead in the past two months: African-Americans, youth and Hispanics.
If there is a primary explanation as to why the race has remained close this summer, it is that Obama has failed to make gains overall with white voters.
What all this suggests is a general election that is much tighter than many analysts predicted and defined by far more stubborn levels of support.
He should have a healthy lead. Yet in poll after poll, Obama conspicuously fails to cross the 50-percent threshold.

  40. SuburbanGuy
    August-6-2008 @ 9:56 am

#36 - Believe me I’m VERY much into what each candidate is proposing if elected as President. Since I would like to go back to college, and am not an “Above Class” citizen, Obama is the nominee I will be voting for. Regardless of how motivating, or inspirational Barack’s speeches may be, if you took a piece of paper and wrote down a side-by-side comparison of what each candidate’s platform is on each topic I assure you that unless your a wealthy company owner who does not have any children in the military, then you would vote for Obama as well. I’m voting based on undeniable logic not sparse propaganda.

Because I sure as shit know that George Bush hasn’t mentioned one fucking word about him since he supposedly brought our country into war to “take care of the evildoers.” God, I’m so proud to be an unbigoted Democrat right now. 42. Ernestine
    August-6-2008 @ 10:02 am

Oh, and I wanted to add a point to SuburbanGuy’s post: it’s interesting that you brought up our perceptions of strangers and racial profiling. I get harassed on the street WAY MORE by creepy white asshole rednecks than I do “thuggish” — i.e., wife-beaters, chains, white sneakers, baggy pants-wearing — black dudes. The black men — if they acknowledge me AT ALL — just sort of nod a little and say “wassup” and keeping walking. It’s the WHITE men who truly stare me down and make me feel threatened. And the man responsible for the VA Tech massacre was Asian. The dude who just decapitated someone on a Canadian Greyhound? Also Asian. Just goes to show that you honestly, truly, never can tell, and these kinds of stereotypes just need to die.

  43. SuburbanGuy
    August-6-2008 @ 10:13 am

#38 - I am a “mixed kid”. Are your suggesting people of multiple races act “white” when they are around certain groups and “black” when they are around other groups? MOST people act according to which environment they are placed. It’s not a multi-race attribute, is a human attribute. When your drinking with your buddies don’t you curse and speak inappropriately at times? However, when your drinking wine with your family at thanksgiving are you as loud or making remarks about how hard you “got laid” last night? I hope not.
“Three demographic groups have generally kept Obama ahead in the past two months: African-Americans, youth and Hispanics.” - I don’t know if that a factual statistic, but it sound about right. Now, if you would like to argue that these numbers are a direct result of Obama’s race then yes, one could suggest that people are voting for him because his a minority. However, based on the same racial argument one could also suggest that the reason he is not receive as much “white” votes is because there is still a very prominent prejudice amongst “white” voters which refuse to vote for any person of another race as is quite evident in this video:

    #41 - Amen!!!

P.S. I was just joking about the Asian comment. Since television never displays Asians wearing baggy jeans, long chains, and a skull caps most people don’t normally have any preconceived interpretations of what they would look like. So to them its a little funny to visualize it… No offense to any “Thug-ish” Asians we have here at FadedyouthBlog

  45. Me

But at least we went after him, and there have been several, terror plots stopped due to the homeland security. The point is you will vote for Obama, and I will vote for Mc Cain. Period. We will see in November who will win. I just hope and pray, the out come is the best for America, also you need to stop being so personal, if you can’t have a debate with out slamming your opponent that shows how uneducated you really are! You can speak your points without calling me a bigot, I don’t hate anyone of any race, in fact I don’t hate anyone at all, I just know I am more comforatable with my type of people, that doesn’t nessisarily mean race, just laid back, lets have a glass of wine and be ourselves. I don’t like ghetto or trailer trash or stuck up snooty people either, just hard working middle class people, wanting the best for our familys and our country! So if that makes me a bigot than so be it I guess.

SuburbanGuy — it’s cool. I honestly don’t think any Asians took offense to your comment. And, hell, speaking of knocking down stereotypes, I’ve definitely known some dimwitted people of the Asian persuasion. And not all of them are kooky and love Sanrio things, either. And, number 45, your comments basically speak volumes. You get your information from people like Bill O’Reilly, which is sad. And politics ARE personal. They affect our daily activities, our wallets, and our relationships with each other. We’re both hoping for different things, I guess. At least we’re both voting.

I’d also like to point out the dialogue between you and our beloved poster known only as “Me.” Many of us are simply sitting back in our desk chairs right now, shaking our heads and giggling to ourselves.

Your view of the world is sadly limited. And your ignorance is just staggering.

Much better on the personal attacks!
Im so proud of you, though your still off a whole bunch.
And sadly to say, this post isnt about ME the one world wonder!
Its about how people like you would vote in someone like Obama with a shitty voting history in the senate…… That alone is sad.
He is a “closet rasict” and you will see one day.
So, enjoy what I stated, as it is true.
Waiting for your attack on me again, because that is what you all do.
    Peace & Love Always.

“Paris’ plan” did have a very nice compromise with offshore drilling and energy technology that I feel both Republicans and Democrats could agree to. I would have voted for her too.

#51 - McCain says he would “come off the campaign trail” to vote on the Offshore Drilling Bill if congress agreed to reconvene inorder to vote on it, yet he wasn’t even there the day it was supposed to be voted on. The days that McCain was present to vote, he voted with President Bush 95% of the time. I think we can all agree that Bush has made some very bad decision during his presidency. Do we really want another Bush in office?

No I dont, Though I want someone with a HISTORY that can serve this nation. From voting on silly things in the Senate to just having experience, and even Bill Clinton stated, that Obama isnt ready for the White House, he doesnt have the experience. (Clintons words!)
Though, I wonder, who if any, will be on the Independent role…
IMHO- we dont need another politician, we need a damn business man that can fix us!

    Adding-
Interesting how Democrats were for exploration when gas was $1.92 per gallon, but against it three years later when it is over $4 per gallon.
    Explain that one?

At least I have a posted name and not Anonymous. The one thing that makes this country Great is we all have freedom of speach, for right now until Obama gets in!

PELOSI hasn’t let it vote yet with two good reasons: A. It would have passed. and B. Obama wouldn’t have voted for it. Which would have made no efforts to solve gas price until the year 2018, and made Obama look like he doesn’t want to solve the “Energy Crisis”.

#65 - This new Offshore Energy Bill was actually accepted by most Democrats due to heavy pressures from their constituents to do SOMETHING/ANYTHING to help lower gas prices. Unbeknownst to most people though the new bill doesn’t do anything for prices now. It will thought hurt the environment and will benefit big oil companies.

and the media once again ignores Pelosi’s tactics to protect Obama, and not allow the vote on the muche needed energy biill.

You guys, even if we DID allow offshore drilling, we wouldn’t get to use ANY of the oil that process might reap. You know who WILL end up buying the meager amount of petrol we manage to extract? CHINA. Get used to astronomical gas prices, because they’re not going anywhere. They’re here to stay, and they’re only going to get worse. Invest in a nice bike and say bye bye to road trips. And if you still insist on driving a bigass SUV, I have two words for you: HA HA!!

drill here drill now, nuclear, oil shale, fuel cells , solar , wind everything will help.
Obama opposes all of the above his plan is :
    Inflate your tires
    drive 55 mph
    pay more taxes LOL.

I highly doubt Obama opposes solar or wind power. And his advice to inflate your tires and drive at a reasonable speed actually DOES CONSERVE GAS, but Republicans are fond of, you know, blowing shit up and plundering the planet, so it’s no big surprise that McCain’s cronies are laughing at Obama and would rather take the environmentally destructive route.
