A soon-to-be published report from Ebony magazine claims Michelle Obama has been the target of more scrutiny than even Hillary Clinton in the 90s.
In an attempt to promote fear and doubt about her husband’s candidacy, the “right-wing smear machine” has reportedly tried to cast the Harvard graduate, professional, and mother as “an angry Black woman.”
Now the person who knows her best, her 71-year-old mother Marian Robinson, tells Ebony magazine that, from Harvard Law to public service in government, education, and health care, Michelle has made an enormous contribution to society.
Marian on Michelle as a youth: “She always had her own opinions about things and she didn’t hesitate to say so because we allowed it. She just seemed like she wanted to do the right thing all the time without being told and she wanted to be the best at things. She liked winning.”Marian on Michelle as an adult: “As a person who is interested in people. She is down-to-earth. She is very smart. I always say if you want something done, just ask Michelle. She’ll get it done and get it done fast. And if she doesn’t know how to do it she’ll go find out and still get it done. She likes people, she can relate to people, she’s friendly, she doesn’t look down to people and she likes kids.”
Michelle on her 16-year marriage to Barack: “Barack and I – as partners, as friends and as lovers – we accessorize each other in many ways. The best thing I love having on me is Barack on my arm and vice versa, whether it’s having him standing there smiling at me, or watching him mesmerize a crowd or talk to some seniors in a senior center.â€
The Ebony feature story will appear on newsstands on August 12.

He is entitled to his opinion, but anyone who knows me would beg to differ. I am, however, a patriot, and will not sit idly by and watch Barack Obama bring forth unacceptable “change†to our society.
The upcoming general election is a pivotal point in protecting our democracy. This race is not about Democrat vs. Republican or white vs. black (as the Obama campaign would have you believe), but rather it is a battle of secular progressives vs. traditional conservatives. I’m not sure if all Democrats realize their party has been seized by radical leftists.
Secular progressives wish to eliminate God and replace him with socialist/communist philosophies. We see it happening every day, such as the Oregon school teacher who refused to allow the class to say the Pledge of Allegiance because it might offend the Muslim community. In the past, we never felt it would offend the Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Italian, Irish or Polish communities, did we?
When I write, I don’t speak to left-wing sympathizers, but rather to those complacent conservative individuals who aren’t sure that they wish to make the effort of voting this year. You cannot sleep through this one! The fanatical left-wingers have found in Obama the one candidate to represent their agenda, and they have picked the general election as the battleground. This will be the ultimate battle of our democracy as it exists under God.
My message is to black and white conservatives and to all those who have traditional values: You must register to vote and make every effort to be heard in November!

Wow when did Americans become so damn illiterate, intolerant, unprogressive, and judgemental? Reading these comments makes me want to leave and come back when you all realize the current state of affairs including the state of education system, the economy, foreign policy, failing infrastructure, social security, etc needs to be fixed and we need a strong leader with vision who can help enact that change and unite us as a people. When people look at the church she and Barack were affiliated with and embraced (until the sermons were made public), you’d be a fool to perceive her as someone who wants to unite a country. Many of my friends will not support Obama because of her.

So I’m confused… do you need me to post the video of Michelle Obama saying she’s finally proud to be an American, or Jeremiah Wright’s sermons? You can find them on YouTube directly from the source. This post was about Michelle Obama, and yes, those things do shape people’s perspective on the woman.
I hate to tell you but by resorting to calling others “stupid idiots”, you lower yourself and loose any credibility you hope to gain. You attack me as if you have any idea about who I am. I have been in the education system for over 10 years and my sister teaches in an inner-city district. I have seen first hand how Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act fell way short when applied, especially on the state level. I have also listened to my sister tell me for years how she holds parent teacher conferences and maybe 2 student’s parents out of 26 show. Many of her 5th graders are so far behind, yet there is an expectation that she will teach them everything they need to know in 6 hour school day which is only in session 5 days a week for 10 months. The parents need to step up. Similarly, her school, which educates about birth control, not abstinence, still has a high rate of pregnancy. There are problems on both ends, and both government and society needs to take a look at what they are doing to shape children’s education and future and take responsiblitiy.
I try and read and watch as much as I can get a hold of about both canidates, so again, your choice to name call me ignorant is inaccurate. Do I think McCain is the perfect canidate, no, but for many reasons I cannot and will not vote for Obama. My decision has been made based on his stance on issues. I agree, there are many issues facing this country, but I do not think Obama is the answer. We can agree to disagree respectfully.
