Pamela Anderson’s famous assets aren’t the only thing fake in this picture.
Joined by local animal rights advocates, PETA’s honorary director was at a KFC restaurant in Vancouver, BC today to sample the new faux-chicken Classic Vegetarian Sandwich!
For years now, Pammy has been a big part of PETA’s international campaign against KFC, whose suppliers have been responsible for some serious Kentucky Fried Cruelty. While the KFC boycott continues to rage outside Canada, the United Purchasing Group of Canada — the folks responsible for coordinating the purchasing of all chickens for Canadian KFCs — entered into an agreement with PETA to dramatically improve animal welfare standards and reduce suffering.
Miss Anderson found the experience delicious. She is proud of the Canadian KFCs for being the first in the world to adopt more humane ways of killing chickens and to offer the veggie sandwich. “I didn’t think I would ever walk into a KFC, but here we go,” she said in advance of her little side trip.

It’s about time KFC did something about their killing practices. I’m really glad they’ve added other options to the menu, because while I eat chicken I make myself I refuse to eat the crap they make at KFC, not just because it’s bad for you but because of the way it’s cooked. I love that Pam is so dedicated to her causes. She’s much more than a pretty face!
That’s GREAT! Having been a follower with PETA and Pam for awhile now, it’s amazing and truly awesome to see that the KFC’s in Canada are trying to do something instead of passing the buck and denying claims! BIG KUDOS!
I have no problem with everyone have there own idea of how to live and eat but I’m sorry who is anyone to say KFC or MCD’s or any other fast food joint should have new special menu’s , come on now, you would’nt expect to go to an all organic place and get a greasy burger so you should’nt expect the opposite with these greasy joints. Great job Pamela Anderson! I think that more fast food places should serve vegetarian items. It’s difficult when going through a fast food place and ordering meat items for my husband and son, and not being able to order anything for my daughter and myself, whom are both vegetarians. It would just make it easier if they served a veggie burger or a faux-chicken sandwich. Especially when traveling, it’s so much easier to all be able to go to the same place to grab something quick to eat.
They don’t call it People Eating Tasty Animals for nothing.
