Virginia “Tiny” Makopo appeared at Sebokeng court today as her trial got underway today in Johannesburg.
The former dormitory matron at Oprah Winfrey’s school in South Africa is pleading “not guilty” to 14 charges including indecent assault and soliciting underage girls to perform indecent acts. She pleaded not guilty to 14 charges of indecent assault, common assault, verbal abuse, soliciting a minor to perform indecent acts and criminal injury
The trial — during which the girls are expected to provide accounts of the abuse — is expected to run through Friday.
No sign of Oprah in court….so far.

Well this realy blew up in her face! Hopefully the school will be revamped and the right people put in place.

I really don’t think it’s fair to blame what happened in the school on Oprah. It’s the principal of the school that should have been keeping a closer eye on things. How was Oprah meant to do thorough checks of the school from the States? And there is no way of knowing what evil people are capable of when you employ them. I just feel for the poor children involved. They had this wonderful opportunity that has ended up ruining their lives and leaving them scarred.
