Festival-goers had to wait until nearly 11 PM Sunday night to witness British mega-stars Coldplay to take the stage at the 2008 Pemberton Music Festival in British Columbia yesterday.
The eager masses threatened to knock over fences and storm restricted areas to get closer to what many consider the biggest band in the world.
For his part, frontman Chris Martin exhibited more than his typical enthusiasm and what seemed like genuine appreciation that people came to the remote festival and stuck around long enough to hear his band.
Coldplay was preceded by a hot performance by Jay-Z. For just over an hour, the hip hop star had the place in a tizzy. Some female fans showed their appreciation by flashing the crowd on the giant video screens – to great approval.
No word on whether the Jiggaman’s missus Beyonce was one of the women gone wild.

I used to not be a fan of theirs but they really have grown on me. I think Chris Martin is an amazing artist.
If Coldplay are considered the biggest band in the world, then rock is truely dead. They are a pussy little piano based quartet and nothing more. If Chris weren’t married to a movie star, he would never have become such a celbrity himself.
Saw them in concert recently and they were amazing!
He used paltrow to get where he’s at, and then got cocky hating america in his music guess he got that from paltrow.

He doesn’t hate America…he hates the NAFTA agreement that the US, Canada, and Mexico signed about 10 years ago. It is a horrible agreement that needs to be reformed.
