So much for Robert Downey Jr.’s self-penned tell-all!

The Iron Man star has stopped plans to release an autobiography.

The book, initially scheduled for release later this year, was described as an in-depth look at “the highs and lows of [the actor's] life and career.”

For now, Downey Jr. has put it on the backburner and returned his advance to publisher HarperCollins.

No explanation on why he’s backing out, but we’re guessing the once troubled actor is having second thoughts about revisiting his dark past now that he’s riding high in the box office.

    He has pre-teen kids. Probably doesn’t want to reveal anything publicly that would be difficult for them to navigate at this young age. Whatever. I loves him. Obama in 08 bitches. LoL.
