AMANDA ISSUES AN APOLOGY

Amanda Peet says she is “truly sorry’ for using her recent comment in Cookie magazine that “parents who don’t vaccinate their children are parasites.”

Here’s what she says in a heartfelt letter posted today:

“I believe in my heart that my use of the word “parasites” was mean and divisive; I completely understand why it offended some parents, and in particular, parents of children with autism who feel that vaccines caused their illness. For this I am truly sorry. Since my mom has Parkinson’s Disease, I know what it feels like to want a concrete cause, and a concrete cure, as soon as possible. … However, I still believe that the decision not to vaccinate our children bodes for a dangerous future.”

Why is she apologizing? Stick by your original opinion! They ARE parasites, and no, vaccines DO NOT cause autism. How are unvaccinated children developing it then? The reason there are more kids being labeled as “autistic” these days is because the spectrum is wider - some of these children would have been labeled as mentally ill or learning disabled in the past. My son is autistic and I would still make the choice to vaccinate him. At least he doesnt have to go through the painful chicken pox episode that I did - I was hospitalized for a month and have residual nerve damage from it.

I agree she should stick to her opinion but she has always said stupid things and is an all around idiot.

i for one, am a parent that does not believe in these stupid shots.
to many children out there do pay the price for these live virus’s pushed into them
my mother also denied to get me these shots while growing up.
believe it or not, my children (23 & 20) have had nothing but the common cold.
imho, its nothing but another way for the government to have some kind of control over you
though, isnt it the governement that is making the “future kids” nothing but sissys?
i think so. we, parents, do not have control over our kids….these children are growing up thinking they control us…and some kids do control the household because parents are scared.
i grew up getting busted, and I busted mine. and if your kid acts up around me, i will bust his ass and yours

Those parents should keep the little disease vectors to themselves! If you don’t vaccinate then keep your kids away from the general public. Not getting vaccinated poses risks for children as well as unvaccinated infants and the elderly.
Wonder if Jenny McCarthy ever considered that those TOXIC funbags she had implanted in her body could have caused her kids autism. Maybe she should worry more about adult women putting their bodies at risk all for the sake of vanity.

Not vaccinating your kids in our modern world is very naive and very selfish. Nature has evolved and advanced, and new an mutated diseases crop up consistently. To think that our bodies can keep up is stupid. Besides, if you don’t vaccinate stating that you think you don’t need it, then go live the life of someone who lived thousands of years ago and see how long you last. People died before they reached thirty. Yo can’t pick and choose - if you live in modern society, you need to abide by the rules for your safety and the safety of others.

As others have pointed out, vaccination programs only work when the majority of people participate in them. Zwinky, if you live in the western world, then it’s actually *quite* believable that your kids haven’t had diphtheria, TB, and all the other diseases that used to kill thousands of children every single year. The reason they didn’t catch them is because most people in the West have been vaccinated. If we returned to having no vaccinations, we could look forward to all these diseases making a massive comeback. It’s not like the viruses have been eradicated. I think people forget just how perilous childhood used to be before vaccs. Heh, and I’d love to see what McCarthy et all would do if bitten by a rabid dog. I doubt they stick to their anti-vacc stance then.
    .
Also, Why’s got it right on the the reason behind the increased Dx of ASD. There is zero evidence that vaccines cause ASD: 1) brain studies have shown that ASD is present before birth 2) there has been no drop in ASD incidence levels even though Thiomersal was removed from most vaccines years ago.

You don’t KNOW what complications all those weird vaccinations will cause in the future. I don’t get Americans who torture their kids with 30 of them. I’ve had 7 and I’m doing perfectly fine.
